Über den Autor
Associate Professor Daniel F. Pinnow, born in 1962, is a renowned expert for leadership and management in German speaking countries. Since 1997 he is CEO of the Academy for Leadership in Überlingen, Germany and from 2004 to 2007 he was member of the board of directors of the Cognos AG. Daniel F. Pinnow is lecturer on leadership and human resources management at the Technical University of Munich. In 2007, he became associate professor of leadership at the Capital University for Economics and Business in Beijing, China. As a pioneer in systemic leadership in Germany, Pinnow combines his rich leading and managing experiences with traditional management theories, organization psychology and family therapy. Moreover, he is an experienced top management master trainer and executive coach.

I bought the german version of the book "Leadership - What really matters" after attending Daniel Pinnow's impressive Seminar on HR management and leadership at the Technische Universität München. The book gives you a comprehensive overview on a variety of leadership models and is a perfect introduction on the topic of "systemic leadership".
Pinnow assumes that organizations originated structures and cultures are too complex and elude the classical control perceptions. The systemic approach to leadership considers managers as part of a complex system, which is constantly at change. The main challenge for leaders is therefore to manage the relations and networks within these systems. Pinnow always emphasizes that leadership is an art of creating a world where others would love to join in.
The book is perfectly written and clear structured. Examples and figures are complementing the text and the key facts of the book. This standard reference book exists as a 5th edition in German and is also available in Chinese. A must read!

The reader gets introduced to and becomes familiar with the concept of systemic leadership in a conclusive and practical way. The book covers all aspects managers face in their daily routines dealing with colleagues and employees.

This a really great book about leadership - it's perfectly written and clear structured. The original german version is since many years in the Top 10 of the best leadership and management books in Germany.
