Pressestimmen

"There is a nice balance of easy, intermediate and harder models in this book […] I have read numerous origami books and folded hundreds of flowers, so it was nice to see some original designs. The quality of the book itself is pretty high, its a soft cover, but the simple stapled spine makes it easy to open the book without it flipping closed. The pages are modern satin, thin but sturdy. The colours and the photos are high quality and pretty. The size is about A5, which makes it easy to handle, and cute!" —Paper Kawaii

"There are so many origami books written specifically on flowers these days. As a woman who loves all kinds of pretty, I, of course love making flowers out of origami and own quite a few books on this topic. This Origami Flowers kit seemed different from any others that I already own so I got quite excited […] There are some simple models but also more challenging, intermediate to lower end of advanced models, included in the book as well so it can attract large populations of origami enthusiasts. I very much enjoyed LaFosse & Alexander's Origami Flowers kit so far and look forward to fold more from it." —Yuki's Origami Blog

"The boxed kit, published by Tuttle includes 180 folding papers, a full-color instructional booklet and DVD. You get 2 sizes of folding paper, 7 and 15 cm squares in purple, yellow, red, green, orange and pink solids. I love when everything is included! […] I found the instructions very clear but if you get stuck just use the instructional DVD, it's very well done, you can go from project to project." —Handmade By Deb

"Love flowers? Well this book not only shows you how to create beautiful floral masterpieces out of paper, but also supplies the colorful paper to make them with! LaFosse & Alexander's Origami Flowers Kit contains 180 sheets of origami paper along with a full-color 96-page instruction book and a 2 1/2 hour instructional video DVD! I love the colorful selection of flowers in this book. You can create beautiful paper folded greeting cards, gift boxes, bouquets and much more." —Suzy's Artsy Craftsy Sitcom

"This kit has paper, a dvd and a book full of traditional style flowers. The paper is a standard kami paper, brightly colored on one side, smooth, thin, and easy to fold. The book diagrams are in standard origami notation, but have instructions in English under each step to clarify the steps. The dvd is very well done, with the focus on the folding and brightly lit. […] Just delightful. Each step was explained, and using it in conjunction with the book, it all made sense. It was like having a private class in how to fold that rose. I tried a few other models using the book and dvd together and it helped out considerably for fitting in the last piece of a modular flower. The lily model, as shown on the DVD actually showed me a faster way to fold it than I've been doing for the last several years. If you're more than a casual folder- this kit may be too basic for you but I'd strongly recommend it to beginning folders. The video instructions are well explained, and in conjunction with the book will teach you how to do origami. The models are well chosen too. The flowers can be use as ornaments or gifts." —Don't Eat The Paste

"Origami teachers LaFosse and Alexander's kit contains 180 sheets of origami paper, a comprehensive instruction booklet with diagrams, and a DVD showing the variety of techniques used to execute intricate designs."—Travel Life magazine

"This little kit packs a lot of content for origami flowers lovers. It contains a booklet, 180 sheets of flowery colored standard origami paper in two packs, 6 and 3 inch squares, and a DVD. There are 20 attractive designs here, ranging from simple, modular flowers to the more advanced tulip and rose. Flowers are accompanied by instructions for matching leaves, and the book provides ideas for what papers to use, tips for proper folding techniques, and ideas for using the finished designs. The booklet is very well produced with many photos throughout. The DVD that comes with the kit contains full video instructions for each and every single project in the book. It's hard to beat Michael LaFosse's teaching videos—they are very well executed, with over-the-shoulder views and good lighting, and he takes care in explaining every move in detail, while giving many tips and tricks, discussing the background of the designs and more. A great kit for both newcomers to origami or for anyone who'd like to fold some nice flower designs!" —Gilad's Origami Page

"Full marks for the content of the book and DVD. This box set is prime gift material." —The Paper Craft Post

Nicely done with everything you need to learn the basics 11. September 2014
Von Shala Kerrigan - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch
This kit has paper, a dvd and a book full of traditional style flowers. The paper is a standard kami paper, brightly colored on one side, smooth, thin, and easy to fold. The book diagrams are in standard origami notation, but have instructions in English under each step to clarify the steps. The dvd is very well done, with the focus on the folding and brightly lit.

The models are a mix of fairly simple one page models like the lily, more complex models like a rose, and modular models. There are also a few leaf models and instructions for adding calyxes and stems to the flowers for displays or gifts.

I'm rose impaired, and A Rose for Irene is a lovely, complex model with a lot of layers. Trying it just from the book, I messed up a couple steps. So I tried the dvd. Just delightful.

The flowers can be use as ornaments or gifts.
Complimentary copy received for review on my craft blog. This is my honest opinion.

Origami Flowers 3. September 2014
Von Marty - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch Verifizierter Kauf
I'm enjoying this book very much. I always like the DVD lessons that Mr. LaFosse includes with many of his books, they are such a help. The flowers are new (to me at least) except for the ubiquitous lily -- why even include that one? -- It's everywhere, although it is always lovely. My only gripe, really, is with the paper that's included. It's ordinary and actually not-all-that-good kami. I'm pretty sure that's not the paper Mr. L. used in demonstrating the models on the DVD. I don't expect him to send along the great papers he and Mr. Alexander produce at their studio, but jeepers, if you're going to hype the fact that paper is included, give us a break and make an attempt to include something a little bit special. And a bit crisper. The best models I've made from this book use paper other than what was included with the book.

All in all this is a fun book, lots of neat flowers. Good presentation and helpful hints on the DVD (be sure to look at that as there is lots of help not included in the book). I almost want to give 4 1/2 stars, but I was put off by the mediocre paper when I expected better from Michael LaFosse. He is a good teacher. And the book is a good deal. And I'm happy to have it.

An unique origami flower kit for any origami lovers 26. August 2014
Von Yuki - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch
I would recommend this kit to any origami enthusiasts but especially those who love flowers and modular origami (about a half of the included models are modular). This kit makes a nice gift and a good travel companion as well!

Make Your Own Flowers 18. August 2014
Von mtot7359 - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com

Great opportunity to make your own flowers, instead of silk flowers. Would also make a nice gift or get-well bouquet. Good instructions, really nice paper, very clean design and presentation in a storage box.

Disapppointing 1. Juni 2015
Von Ron S - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch Verifizierter Kauf
Somewhat disappointing. The book shows some lovely flowers. I found the written/pictorial instructions very hard to follow (I am a novice at origami so that's probably partly on me). I did use the book to find video instructions on line. The papers do not seem to be good quality at all, much inferior to other papers I have bought online. Most of the papers are 2" square, very small to do the kind of folding required for the flowers, especially with paper that does not fold well. The DVD did not work on my computer...will try on the TV. For the price, I found it lacking. I saw a lot of positive reviews before I purchased it, so maybe part of the fault is with me. That's why I gave it 3 starts instead of 2. I do feel I wasted my money. The book gave me some good ideas and had me searching for easier instructions to follow so not a complete waste.
