If you're planning on taking a trip to Legoland in Florida, this little guide is perfect. I'd have the kids(and myself) read the whole guide, so that we could know exactly what sites we wanted to see, and ride; lining up our choices with what time we wanted to eat, and where. There is so much information packed into this handy guide, that I wish there were one out for a few wineries I plan on visiting in May.

Just the fact that this guide fits on your smartphone, means you can have easy access to them, and certainly your kids will be more willing to read them, rather than handing them each a paperback guidebook from the stone-age(my era). Not only is this guide book handy because most of us carry our smartphones with us everywhere, but it's a wealth of information. It can connect to the internet when you want to know more about subject then what's in the guide. Such as, click on the hyperlink of Ole Kirk Christiansen, and you'll see how and when he built the famous lego bricks. These hyperlinks alone will keep your children(or yourself) diving as deeply into the subject as your heart desires.

In the beginning of the guide, there's a key, indicating the level of the rides. S=scary, D=dark, A=awesome, T=thrilling(think roller coasters, and my personal favorite W=wet, which is something I need to know ahead of time. You can know what the height requirements are ahead of time, so you don't trudge your way across the park only to find out that your little darlin' is too short to ride the roller coaster he's invested 20 minutes of walking to, so he's beyond excited to ride.

The guide features lots of pictures, and its laid out in an easy to read format, with a quiz at the end so you can make sure your kids know enough to enjoy the attractions before they even get there. And what child doesn't enjoy a pop quiz?

Truly a groundbreaking way to enjoy yourself in Legoland. Knowledge is power!

LEGOLAND® Florida is a 150-acre interactive theme park dedicated to families with children between the ages of 2 and 12. It opened in October 2011, with plans for a water park in May 2012. It was previously known as Cypress Gardens theme park. There are periods when it isn't open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so be sure to check first before planning your visit.

It's a pretty long way away from the other Orlando attractions unless you are driving or have access to a car, so international visitors should note the following distances. (There's a shuttle from Orlando Premium Outlets)

* Distance to Walt Disney World: 30.4 Miles
* Distance to Airport: 38.3 Miles
* Distance to Downtown: 42.3 Miles
* Distance to SeaWorld: 32.1 Miles
* Distance to Universal: 36.2 Miles

This guide gives you all the information you need to plan a vacation to Legoland, and as it is written for kids, the attractions are listed as being scary, dark, awesome, thrilling or wet, or a combination of these.

As is the norm for this brand of guides, there are tips for planning your day, including places to eat, height requirements for rides and places to shop. There are four roller coasters.

There's info on:

Fun Town (The Grand Carousel, the Factory Tour, 4D Theatre);
Lego Kingdoms (Royal Joust, The Forestmen's Hideout, The Dragon coaster, Merlin's Challenge);
Duplo Village (Granny's Jalopies, Big Rig Rally); Land of Adventure (Coastersaurus, Safari Trek, Beetle Bounce, Lost Kingdom Adventure, Pharaoh's Revenge);
Lego City (Rescue Academy, Ford Driving School, Flying School, Boating School);
Imagination Zone (Lego Mindstorms, Build & Test, Hero Factory);
Lego Technic (Aquazone Wave Racers, Test Track, Extreme Games, Technicycle)
Pirate's Cove (The Battle for Blackbeard's Bounty)
Miniland USA (models of Florida, Kennedy Space Center, Daytona etc)
Cypress Gardens (huge Banyan tree)

Sounds like a must-see for all Lego fans, regardless of age, in which case this guide is a must-have.

5.0 von 5 Sternen FABULOUS help for kids AND adults! 21. April 2012

Laura Schaefer is a genius! Her books are perfection for parents and children alike. Her writing style is easy to read for all ages and the information she provides is invaluable. I am a travel agent and I will be recommending ALL of her books for ALL ages. I find her travel books enjoyable reading whether I am heading to that destination or not.....armchair travel is fun with Laura by my side!

LegoLand Florida is a valuable tool to have for this new family park. Laura takes us on a tour from the front gate thru the park and back to our car... all so effortlessly (or so it seems to the reader). She gives fun facts about various areas of the park (did you know the 'Grand carousel' was original to Cypress Gardens?)....she gives a heads up to pre-planning your trip such as taking minifigures to trade with the LegoLand staff. She gives the height requirements so you can make a list and check it twice before you go -- helping to know what rides NOT to promise your smallest tyke. Giving fun tips such as 'play with 2 adults' to win the Rescue Academy (who knew?)....

Great tips if you have only one day to spend in the park. Symbols provide tips for the type of ride to expect (scary, dark, awesome, thrilling, wet). She offers reviews of food available in the park (Granny's Apple Fries were invented at the Legoland in Calif) and where each eatery is located... super for advanced planning of snacks and meals.

I loved the fun facts sprinkled thruout the book -- great for trivia buffs or just to make it more fun to look around the park - like more than 55 million Lego bricks helped build Legoland Florida. I love the organization of the book.... it does not jump around but takes each park area in a single chapter.

The 'knowledge test' at the end of the book is a great review..... it is easy to return to that chapter to read up on information missed the first time around. One of the most valuable parts of her books is the TIPS section at the end. Parents for SURE will want to read these. Photos enhance the planning stage and give a few ideas of what to add to your own list of photos to snap in the park.

This is one more of Laura's excellent guide books - but don't think it (or any of her others) are for kids only -- they are for the kid in all of us!

This e-book has so much great information! You will learn everything from very practical information like how tall you must be for each ride and the best photo opportunities, to the history of LEGOs and LEGOLANDs around the world. I was just trying to decide where to spend our time and money while on vacation, and now I wouldn't dream of skipping LEGOLAND! Also, I aced the quiz at the end :) It's a must read if you're headed in that direction any time soon!

This is a guide book about Legoland. I know most of the info is on the web, but this book puts it into a simple one-stop shop kind of place. It is a good overview and contains all the info you need to have a good time. It is a good all-around guide.
