Meditation routines, Ayurvedic lifestyle recommendations, and commentary on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali are included in this work to encourage Self-realization and inner tranquility. Skillful meditation, healthy living, and realization of our Eternal Self are the practices of Kriya Yoga, and it is through our own consistent practice of Patanjali's methods that the lineage of enlightenment continues.

In 2000 Ryan Kurczak was initiated by Roy Eugene Davis, a direct disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda. For six and a half years he served as a minister for Center for Spiritual Awareness.

"As you are reading, Ryan is right there with you, quietly telling you, 'Don't forget. You are the Seer, the Eternal Self.' Read this work slowly, attentively, again and again, and your life can be transformed."
- Don Salmon, Author, Yoga Psychology

5.0 von 5 Sternen Excellent Guide to the Yoga Sutras! 27. Dezember 2012
Von Gnostic - Veröffentlicht auf
I highly recommend this new commentary of the Yoga Sutras by Ryan Kurczak. It's been a while since I have read a commentary so fresh and full of new perspective. Ryan demonstrates time and again his high knowledge of Yoga and its processes in each and every verse of the Sutras. Ryan Kuczak is a yogi through and through and has firsthand knowledge of many of the higher states of Consciousness as described by Patanjali. When a Spiritual text is written by someone who has experienced the Spiritual states described in the text, it is obvious to the reader; there is a certain "fragrance" to the words on the page. Kriya Yoga has a "fragrance" of Truth and authenticity in its pages. Ryan's writings are permeated in the essence of the Kriya Yoga lineage of Gurus and his Spiritual Teacher, Roy Eugene Davis. Anyone who has never read the Sutras before will really enjoy Kriya Yoga, and likewise, someone who has read the Sutras many times can also benefit from Ryan's fresh perspectives.

5.0 von 5 Sternen An Ideal Guide to Self Knowledge 30. August 2013
Von charleston corey - Veröffentlicht auf
This is by far the most clear and direct commentary on the yoga sutras that I have found. Many authors add long commentary with lots of flowery sanskrit words that go on and on. If one is a sanskrit scholar then that is great; but it ends up leaving the rest of us (westerners especially) somewhat confused about the meaning and complexity of a verse.
And then other commentaries I have found have seemed too technical in explanation, not simple enough in my opinion.

In both cases, I did not fully understand the meaning of some verses of the Yoga Sutras until I read Ryan's commentary. It presents a great balance between the technical and poetic styles of explanation.
He describes and explains the sutras in his own words, and in plain english. And to me, this solidifies his understanding of the Sutras and reveals how much he has contemplated them. If one really knows what they are talking about, then they can explain it in their own words very simply, and dont have to rely on the Sanskrit jargon.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Practical Wisdom with Heart 2. Januar 2013
Von lampoftheheart - Veröffentlicht auf
You will not find a more clear, direct approach to the yoga sutras out there. This book is the perfect blend of the author's personal story, meditative practices, encouragement for developing a healthy lifestyle and modern commentary on the ancient teachings of Kriya Yoga. It is the full picture of what it is to live a self-realized life. The reader can feel the light of God shining through the passages illuminating the timeless wisdom within them. As you get farther along into the book you can open it to any page and take in a nugget of wisdom that is full of love and compassion. To find a book like this is rare. It is clear. it is simple. it is for the beginner and we are all beginners. lest we not forget, Kriya Yoga: Continuing the Lineage of Enlightenment reminds us of this. The message is grounded in the obviousness of what it is to be human while simultaneously recognizing the eternal essence of God. Read it. Take it in. May the lineage you.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Clear and generous information 13. Dezember 2013

I am new at kryia yoga through SRF organization. The instructions in the lessons sent to me were not clear enough for me to understand how to proceed with the technique. Ryan is generous with information, uses words I can relate in order to practice the kryia yoga technique appropriately.... hopefully.Very helpful in assisting me to follow the path.
Thank you Ryan.
5.0 von 5 Sternen A Wholistic view of the Kriya Yoga Meditation System! 9. Oktober 2014
Von SteveGuy - Veröffentlicht auf

"Great book to give a wholistic view of the Kriya system. I've been practicing Kriya for a number of years, and find this book refreshing in its explanation of the Kriya System as it relates to the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. It is a book that looks at the whole system in relationship to the 8 limbs of yoga practice. Mr. Kurczak is balanced in his approach to technique and the realistic amount of philosophical understanding required to make the most of Kriya practice.

It is a great book for beginners to give a good overview. It's also a great book for veteran Kriya Practitioners who want to understand the deeper aspects of Yoga is it is related through the Sutras. Well worth the read and contemplation."
