I Know What You Did Last Summer By:Lois Duncan The book I Know What You Did Last Summer took place on the West Coast. Four kids, are main characters: Julie, a straight A student, and captain of the cheerleading squad was short and had curly red hair. Helen, she dropped out of school, when she was a junior to be a weather girl for the channel five news. She was tall and skinny with honey colored hair. Ray, who moved out to the east coast to work on boats. Barry goes to the University and stays at the dorm. They were all at a party one night, when they were drinking and then on their way home they hit a kid who was riding on his bike. They all made a pact that they wouldn't tell anyone about the accident that night. Then a year later, someone found out about what they did and now he's stalking them. The author, Lois Duncan is able to relate to students reading the book. The book is pretty easy to read. At times the book gets boring but for the most part it's interesting, it makes you want to keep reading to see what is going to happen. The writing is good and easy to understand.

At first, I thought that this book was going to be exactly the movie. To my surprise, it was better than the movie. It was more taut and suspenseful than what I expected it to be. Unlike the movie, it relied more on supense than gore. You know that the book is going to be good when one of the four get a letter in the first few pages. You wonder what will happen next. As you read more, the suspense builds up. Soon you get to the terrifying climax, and you soon find out a secret that connects two of the girls. Once again, Lois Duncan creates a terrifying and suspenseful novel. If you get this book, I gurantee that you will be satisfied.

Sure this book was really great. I finished it in March on a plane ride to New York. It took me a week or to to read but only because I couldn't read it all the time. It wasn't scary, as it is supposed to. I mean, it was a little scary, but not calling your mom from 3000 miles away and asking for some comforting words scary. It's more like creep you out a little scary. Well, I can't wait to rent the movie. I'll review that too. Go buy this but don't expect to have chills coming down your spine from scariness and goosebumps all over your body and turning around every time you hear a noise.

If you hated the movie "I Know What You Did LastSummer" but love mysteries, check out the book by Lois Duncanthat the movie was VERY loosely based on. As in... the characternames are the same. That's just about it. ... the way the story unfolds is different, and when reading the book you don't hear the screaming of any girls!
Lois Duncan is a fabulous author, not to mention being one of my favorites for atleast eight years. I would recommend any of her books. END

This was a great book it was full of suspense. Like there is one part where Julie asks Ray why one of the three peoeple (Barry, Mr. Cox, and Helen) would be lieing about what happened the night that Barry got shot. But you dont find out who is lieing or why until later on in the story. It is also very wierd (like Ray pointed out in the story) how Megan said that she was home alone because her mother was sick and in a hospital and that her father was staying with her and her brother moved out. So there were no men living in the house, and yet she was pulling newly cleaned men's shirt off of the clothes line when Julie and Ray were over at her house. If there were no men there what was she doing with men's shirts? In this story everyone recieves a sign from the killer; Julie get's a letter in the mail, Ray gets a newspaper clipping, Helen get a picture, and Barry gets shot. This is a great book it was very addicting it was like once you picked it up and started reading you couldn't put it down. I recommend for everyone to go out and get this book and read it, it is a wonderful book.

I Know What You Did Last Summer is a very well written book. The characters fully play thier part, and are described in their best detail. The setting can jump from a peaceful conversation by a hot pool side, to a scene of a bloody mess.Troughout the book, the characters hold within them selves the most unbearable secret, but is never to be told. The information has accidentaly leaked, and now they must pay for what they have done. All of thier lives are threatened, and even one was shot. Louis Duncan is a very interesting writer and knows how to put her mind on paper. While reading her book, there can be times when you can be peacefully reading, and other times, youcan be left on the edge of your seet.I recommend this book to every reader looking for an easy novel to read, and at the same time, to be entertained. As you read I Know What You Did Last Summer, you will find your fingers turning the pages much faster.

In the intriguing book I Know What You Did Last Summer, by Lois Duncan, you can be sure to be on the edge of your seat though out the whole story. This book keeps you guessing who's after the group of friends. The book also shows how well friends can stick together though out many hardships. Another thing, it tell you how much a group of friends can go through in one year. The story starts out when a group of friends are drunk and hit a little boy on his bike. He was killed instantly. They make a pact to never tell anyone. A year later they all start getting strange and creepy notes saying that someone knows what they did last summer. That is when people started to get hurt. Barry is shot and Helen is pushed out her apartment window. Everyone gets' scared and they all become extremely nervous about all that is happening.

It was suspensful and suprising. I haven't seen the movie, but from what I've heard about it, I'm not sure that the movie will be any good.
Story: The plot is original and well-thought. In the last two chapters, you say to yourself, "Oh, I see now. I wasn't expecting that." Lots of twists.
Overall Story Grade: A
Editing: No mistakes that I saw. Very well edited. This publisher does a good job of editing.
Overall Editing Grade: A+
Content: Gets a little 90210-ish, but that's forgivable. The story and chapters flow nicely.
Overall Content Grade: A-
Comments: Creepy and eerie, suspensful and twisty, amazing and virtually flawless, this is one of the best books ever.
If Books Had Ratings, This Would Be Rated: PG for some violence and mild language.

Not very often do you find a book with so much thrilling excitement that also ties in life lessons. Well, here comes one those books, I know What You Did Last Summer by Lois Duncan. It is a book I would highly recommend to anyone and everyone who enjoys page thrilling novels. The book is about four teenagers who hit a boy on a bike. They leave the boy there to suffer and decided to never speak about the night again. Life is going on just fine for the four of them until threatening notes are received in the mail. Who's been sending them? Is this a cruel prank someone is playing on them, or does someone really know about last summer? Read this book to see what the four of them go through, the pain, the horror, and the excitement...........the end will leave you stunned !
