I suppose this guide will work well for a tourist who plans to spend a limited amount of time in DC and will only be going to the major museums and memorials. The stardard of the maps as well as the dining/activity recommendations are still all high quality and neatly packaged. However, if you're looking for a comprehensive guide that covers the whole city, this isn't the map for you.
The guide is small and easily fits inside a purse, coat pocket, or backpack. We love the detailed maps that flip open and easily folded back into the book. We also liked the format of the book, which breaks down the city into manageable and detailed sections. There are descriptions and pictures of the main sights on the map page so we always knew what to see in the area where we were at. On the other side of the maps, there are places to eat, places to shop, and other activities that are nearby which proves to be a handy reference. It makes it so we don't have to carry both a map and a guidebook.
This mapguide makes it easy for us to see a lot of sights in a short period of time. Our friends always ask us how we see so much in a short time and we tell them it is with the help of this guide! What was funny was when we had this out, other travelers asked us where we purchased the guide because they wanted one too.
an overview of key places in handy detailed maps sectioned into areas of the city
that fold out for viewing.
