Dieses Buch hat mich wirklich erschüttert. Mark (Johannes) Mathamane beschreibt in seiner Autobiographie sehr ernüchternd, ehrlich und emotional seine Kindheit in einem Ghetto vor Jo'burg. Man fühlt die Hilflosigkeit, die Angst vor der Zukunft, den Hass auf und die Furcht vor den Weißen, aber auch seinen unglaublichen Traum von einer bessere Zukunft...dieses Buch ist wirklich jedem, der sich für das wunderschöne (aber auch zerrissene Land) Südafrika interessiert, nur zu empfehlen!!!

Kaffir Boy is a remarkable book. About Mark Mathabane. It is an honest and open story of his life in Apartheid South Africa. In this book, the reader is taken into a journey though his life in his recount. The book is very engaging , the story flows and the setting is so real. Though certain aspects of Mark's life are shocking, they only help to give you a better understanding of the environment in which he lived and make Mark Mathabane human.. This deep and moving story is not only easy to read, it is also full of things to learn about.

Also recommended: DISCIPLES OF FORTUNE, GRACELAND, THE UNSURPER AND OTHER STORIES ,CRY THE BELOVED COUNTRY

I am an avid reader and after seeing a Tv show on Mark Mathabane, I decided to read Kaffir Boy. It was amazing. The book was soo well written, that I could almost see what he was describing. THis book touched my life like no other book has before. THank you Mr. Mathabane for sharing your life with us!
