Erotic power play is a form of sexuality in which freely consenting adults engage in activities such as bondage, sensation ranging from pleasantly sensuous to tolerably painful, and dominant/submissive role-playing.
Erotic bondage is one of three major categories of erotic power play. (The other two are sensation play and dominant/submissive role-playing.) Erotic bondage takes place when one person applies rope or similar materials to their consenting partner during erotic play in order to restrict the ability of their partner to move and to increase the arousal of both parties in an intense yet safe manner. Playing with power is not a trivial activity. While it can be intense, fun, and very very sexy, it also carries some significant risks. Its risk/benefit ratio is in many ways comparable to activities like jogging, backcountry hiking, or recreational swimming: most of the time things go pretty well and the people involved have rewarding experiences, but occasionally and accidentally somebody gets harmed. Fortunately, proper education can prevent almost all such mishaps as well as making “the game” much more rewarding.
Interest in all forms of erotic power play, and most especially in bondage, has reached millions of people and continues to grow. Estimates of the overall level of interest range from one adult in ten to an astonishing one adult in three.
My book, titled Jay Wiseman's Erotic Bondage Handbook and published by Greenery Press, provides its reader with a comprehensive, realistic introduction to the topic. Because this is a “do try this at home” book, I worked very hard to ensure that the information and advice it contained was realistic and useful.
Extensive research went into this book's preparation. I researched such topics as police handcuffing protocols, hospital policies regarding use of restraints, and the martial arts techniques associated with tying prisoners. I interviewed innumerable bondage fans about their successes and mishaps, and consulted over a dozen of the most noted bondage experts. I also obtained the very latest relevant medical information. All the erotic bondage techniques were carefully and repeatedly tested before being included.
Jay Wiseman's Erotic Bondage Handbook is designed to provide its readers with solid, realistic, useful information that will enable them and their partners to have rewarding erotic bondage experiences. It provides its reader with a carefully designed orientation to the fundamental principles of consensual erotic power play, the essential facts of ropes, knots, and formal bondage gear, and information on how to prepare, clean, and store the equipment. More than 100 specific topics are covered in detail, including types of rope, types of knots, positions, and techniques. All of this is done in a clear, easygoing writing style with more than occasional doses of humor. To further show the human side of this practice, quotes from bondage fans, many spoken during actual bondage sessions, are liberally sprinkled throughout the book.

80 Seiten: Gefahren von bösen Menschen, Unfällen, Naturkatastrophen, etc.
50 Seiten: Seilkunde. Lebensziel des Autors ist es, Menschen mit Seilen so zu fesseln, dass es kein Entkommen mehr gibt. Also beschreibt er ausführlichst alles, was man zum Thema Seile wissen kann: Material, Dehnung, Pflege, Beschaffung, etc. Für den europäischen Leser schwierig sind die Angaben in Inches und Fuß, da muß man schon ein wenig rechnen.
15 Seiten: Knoten. vgl. Ziel des absoluten Festbindens. Kam mir manchmal vor, wie in einem Pfadfinderhandbuch. Hätte mir Knoten gewünscht, die sich zwar fest anfühlen, sich im Notfall aber schnell auch vom Gefesselten lösen lassen.
120 Seiten: Stellungen. Sehr positiv die genaue Beschreibung von Vor- und Nachteilen, Überlegungen für verschiedene Alters-, Gewichts- und Flexibilitätsklassen und eventuelle gesundheitliche (Vor-)Schädigungen. Leider völlig ausgeklammert (bis auf wenige Warnhinweise) sind alle senkrechten (Arm-über-Kopf) und Hängepositionen, und da wird es meiner Meinung nach für den Neuling erst interessant. Jemanden an die Bettpfosten zu binden, schafft man notfalls auch ganz ohne Handbuch. Mit diesen Positionen fehlen natürlich auch die dabei auftretenden Probleme z.B. mit unterschiedlicher Körpergröße.
20 Seiten: andere Fesselmaterialien. Hier kommt der Autor auf Handschellen, Ketten, Tape, etc. zu sprechen, auch hier wieder mit Schwerpunkt Immobilisation, also nix Softes.
10 Seiten: sonstige Techniken.
Dazu gibt es Zeichnungen, die das Ganze veranschaulichen, die Menschen sehr angenehm aus dem Alltag gegriffen, nicht alle jung, schön und wohlgeformt, sondern richtige Persönlichkeiten, mal älter, mal rundlich, mal mit Tatoos...
