Vielleicht habe ich bereits zuviel über Jacky O. & Co. gelesen. Aber diese Sammlung an "neuen Enthüllungen" ist mau. Im Prinzip hat man das alles schon zigfach gehört, gelesen oder im TV gesehen. Daher: Keine Empfehlung.

So disappointed....... 5. Juni 2014

and I haven't even read past the first chapter. It states that Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis' mother Mrs. Auchincloss was divorced from her second husband Mr. Auchincloss, which is not true. Mrs. Auchincloss divorced her first husband, Jack Bouvier, then married Mr. Auchincloss and several years after Mr. Auchincloss died, she married Bingham Morris; they separated but never divorced.

With such a glaring inaccuracy so early on, it makes me wonder how many other "facts" printed in this book are incorrect.

I was hoping this book was something more than a hodge-podge of headlines pulled from "National Enquirer" esq. tabloids, but now I'm starting to wonder.

A disappointed reader who spent $13.00 on this e-book. What a waste.

Intimate look at a fascinating woman 3. Juni 2014
Von Robin Landry - Veröffentlicht auf

I've always been an admirer of the great style that Jacqueline always had and the class she brought to the White House as First Lady. After reading this book, I know think that she deserved and Oscar for her wonderful performance. "A Life Beyond Her Wildest Dreams" is an amazingly candid look at how the wealthy live, and I don't envy them one bit.

Jacqueline grew up with a bitter, domineering, money-hungry mother, and philandering, alcoholic father, and both parents were abusive to Jackie in their own way. How Jackie managed to rise above both them and make something of herself is amazing. Sure she might have looked for love in all the wrong places. She married for money, and she paid for it many times over, but through it all she was a role model for our country when we needed one, and she's still my favorite first lady.

The hypocrisy of the upper class is truly stunning. To think that these are the sort of people that we look up to is sad. It's almost as if they feel that they are above the rules that we all have to live by. I'd recommend this book for no other reason than to see that living a middle class life, putting family first, is far better than being rich and famous(and don't even get me started on the reality queens).

The writing in this book is compelling, and though the book is long and detail, I couldn't put it down. The only flaw I found was that sometimes an event would be repeated(I think because of the dual authorship), and the timeline jumped around somewhat.

Jackie lived large in a world where the stakes were high. I didn't look at her life as immoral, it struck me that that Jackie was just trying to survive, using the skills she was born with to great success. This book made me wonder if Jack Kennedy would have even been elected without marrying her, which is probably why his father Joe, was so anxious for them to marry. Also, Jack had a few male, lifelong, homosexual friends, and was rumored to one himself. Had he not married, those rumors might have eliminated any political career he might have had.

Also, Jackie made JFK look like the perfect husband, which he certainly wasn't, and the perfect father, which he might have been. Jackie's great gift was lifting up her husband's image, and giving other women a role model of how to act with class, and especially dignity in times of great loss.

A great beach read, though you might get sun-burned reading it because you'll be so engrossed, you'll forget where you are.

absolute junk 16. Juni 2014
Von Jane B. Wypiszynski - Veröffentlicht auf

This book is worse than a has made up quotations, claims to have excerpts from Jackie's diaries (non-existent though they are), mines the deepest underbelly of behaviors and is just a horrible, awful piece of junk.

Not worth the money.

Appears to be a compilation of all the worst rumors ever heard about the Kennedys. 11. Juni 2014
Von Barbara L. Price - Veröffentlicht auf

Reads like a tabloid. Repetitive. I stopped reading half way through as it seemed to be a compilation of information already printed by other sources. In addition, conversations were quoted that no one, other than the 2 people present would have known. I would not recommend it.

Total gossip rag 6. August 2014

Gets tediously gossipy... have not been able to finish it. Becomes a total gossip rag...based on imagined events the author surmises MIGHT have happened. Wish I had not spent my money on it!
