Funny, but with holes 15. April 2012
Von PFont - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This really isn't a typical zombie story where the good guys save the day. It's an interesting read. Seems like it was written with a screenplay in mind, but it's still pretty good. The jabs at politics, the sarcasm in the characters, and the come-lately hero come together in a strangely unique way that makes one wonder what happens next.

Fred has a psychic hold over his zombies, Jon somehow becomes an assassin who later pays the Reaper in the form of Fred's almost undead son. Oh, and zombie drag queens! It's quirky and a quick read, but the prequel probably holds a lot of information that was lacking in this story.

My introduction to Zombieland... LOVED IT 27. Mai 2012
Von Anne Nelson - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch
I've Been Deader: Adam Sifre

Being undead never felt more alive. Fred's just an ordinary zombie until one day he learns a trick.

The undead had a good run at the beginning, but once the breathers get organized, it's only a matter of time before zombies go the way of pet rocks and sea monkeys. They need a hero. They need Fred. Fred is a natural dead leader with a flair for poetry and a fierce love for his son, Timmy. Unfortunately, as far as the undead are concerned, the only good Timmy is a dead Timmy.

Things look grim for the undead until Fred flies into a rage trying to make popcorn and discovers he has a talent for controlling zombies. Now the undead are organized and, like the unions, in a position to destroy America. Is there no one who can stop them? More importantly, do we want them to? Stick around, we'll have some fun.

I actually won "I`ve Been Deader" on goodreads. I was so excited when I did. Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this fantastic book Adam Sifre!!! I have never read a "zombie" book before, so this unique book was an awesome way to venture into zombie world.
Thanks again for the chance to be introduced to the zombies through "I`ve Ben Deader."

I absolutely loved this book!!! If this is an example of most zombie books, then I can say that "yup, I`m now a fan" of zombie land...

Adam has an amazing concept in his writing style. I feel that some how I have a greater insight to a zombies life, and what they are and thus go thru in their life. (I think that's a better way of saying it) of who they are really.

Yes, you'll find all the creepy stuff like guts, (oh man that is just so yuck) and the gorey blood (which I most definitely excepted) that is part of the gross zombie life (I think, remember I`m new to this) But, it was so different in a lot of ways than what you'd think would be associated with a zombie book.

How do you explain that you feel sad and bad for a zombie? That's what I feel for poor Fred, such an "out of this world" kind of character!!!

As you read I've Been Deader, it will seem like you are reading a couple of books at the same time, yet they are all pulled together into this one spectacular novel.. (well done Adam) I wonder if others will feel the same way as I did?

Such a page turner. A MUST READ as far as I'm concerned!!

My rating: I give I've Been Deader a 4/5 Angel stars

I liked this story a lot 26. Oktober 2012

Thank You Mr. Sifre. This was my first zombie book. I've always stuck with the movies. I'm so glad I took a look inside. It was not what I expected. Intrigued,I bought the book and have no regrets. I got the feeling while reading, that Mr. Sifre enjoyed writing about Fred as much as I enjoyed reading about his journey. It was fun and fast. I will definitely be recommending this story to others.

Zombies and snark, a perfect combination 13. Juli 2012
Von Tiffany A. Harkleroad - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verifizierter Kauf
What is harder than the life of a zombie? The life of a zombie in love with a breather. Such is the trial of our undead pal Fred. You would think Fred would have no trouble scoring with the lovely Aleta, since he is still capable of rational thought. For some reason, maybe it is the putrifying flesh or the risk of zombie infection, Aleta is just not biting. So, Fred is. Now, Fred is trying to lead a zombie uprising, all while trying to find his son Timmy (or is it Tommy, Fred cannot quite remember).

You would think a zombie would not be a very sympathetic character, particularly one with a heavy handed approach to dating, yet I found myself quite sympathetic toward Fred. It cannot be easy being a being a higher level zombie capable of rational thought, stuck in a shuffling decaying body. I liked the concept of there not really being a "good guy" in this book. Even the guy who tries to fight the zombies is not exactly good. Every person, alive or undead, is only looking out for his or her own interests.

I thought the writing was really clever, and found myself chuckling many times throughout the book. Each chapter is a story in and of itself, and the chapters are woven together for a truly brilliant overall story. I thought the chapters from Fred's point of view were the best, but I liked that the story was well rounded, showing the different aspects of the plot.

I found the book to be really entertaining overall, and quite witty. It is definitely not your everyday zombie book; I think it will appeal to zombie fanatics, as well as readers who enjoy snarky humor. Since I enjoy both zombies and snark, this book was perfect for me.

It's Zombie Book 10. Mai 2012
Von ClintB - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com

It's Zombie Book, does anything more need to be said? It was well written, it was edited, and it was a fun read. Humor and Zombies, who'd of thunk. The begining and the bases for the Zombie-ism( I tried but no spelling looked right), was pretty well thought out. I liked the way it started, I liked the middle, fill in the blanks part, and the ending was very good. Good luck to the Author and thanks for a fun cheap read. The best kind.
