This enormous book, 1700+ pages, apparently did not go through an editing process. Every page is covered in the most blatant typos I have ever seen. These errors are bad enough to distract from the reading on a regular basis. I highly recommend page 64, where I counted 6 typos in one paragraph. These are even things a spell checker would have caught. It is absolutely unforgivable in a text like this.
Oh, content? There's a lot of it. This also did not go through an editing process. The editors apparently took it upon themselves to simply dump in any and every piece they could find on the subject, mostly from their own writing. The sheer volume of material here makes it impossible to wade through.
Unfortunately, if you are looking at buying this book you probably need it for a class. My recommendation? Drop the class. It cannot be a successful class if it is based on this giant piece of poorly organized, unedited, typo-filled junk. It is amazing that a book on environmental law can think it wise to waste 1700 pages with this kind of unhelpful material.
I'm sure the editors are very good in the field, as is evident from the many times they include their writings. However, they need some help in making this book into something more useful for reading than it is for use as a boat anchor.
[Edit: I did find a typo in my review, but used the editorial process to fix that error, unlike the editors of this book.]
