Kurzbeschreibung

Innovation Strategy for the Knowledge Economy is intended for managers who have practiced the best of quality and re-engineering management techniques and are ready to transform their organizations with the systematic notions of knowledge creation and application. It is for organization leaders who prefer to be inspired with innovation strategy than hit over the head with change management techniques. It does not deal with barriers, hurdles, or conflicts to be resolved; rather, it paints a possible vision of how we can take advantage of our collective learning to move an enterprise forward.

This book provides the reader with a sound, practical framework for instituting innovation strategy beyond the traditional definition of flow of parts or finances. At the core is an understanding of the dual value of knowledge (content) and innovation (process) using 'real-time' learning as the methodology. Innovation Strategy for the Knowledge Economy introduces new managerial concepts such as: Value-System versus Value-Chain Strategic Business Network (SBN) versus Strategic Business Unit (SBU) Customer Success versus Customer Satisfaction It is an invaluable resource for both managers and organization leaders.

Debra Mae Amidon is Founder and Chief Strategist of Entovation International, a global innovation research and consulting network with outposts throughout the world. Her specialties include: knowledge management, learning networks, customer innovation, and enterprise transformation. Ms. Amidon holds degrees from Boston University, Columbia and MIT, where she was an Alfred P. Sloan Fellow.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Linking knowledge and innovation strategy, 20. September 1999
Rezension bezieht sich auf: Innovation Strategy for the Knowledge Economy: The Ken Awakening (Business Briefcase) (Taschenbuch)
"Innovation Strategy for the Knowledge Economy: The Ken Awakening", by Debra Amidon, at just over 200 pages, is small compared to many conventional books on management. However, I believe its impact will be stronger, and its future brighter, than many much longer books on the subject.

As the title indicates, this book is about innovation strategy, a topic of great intellectual interest, and a type of strategy which business today needs to embrace, develop, articulate and implement.

If you are searching for a book to bring innovation to the forefront, and to discuss how innovation strategy can be put into practice, this book provides the best starting point, I could recommend. It is useful for everyone in business (including, but not limited to, executives and consultants) who regards innovation as a practical method to enhance the impacts and outcomes of business activities. Numerous other publications exist for those who regard innovation as merely a prestigious activity, not to be mixed with the "real" work of running an organization. The author has effectively linked knowledge and innovation strategy. I hope she will write more on the fascinating topic of innovation strategy.

Rezension bezieht sich auf: Innovation Strategy for the Knowledge Economy: The Ken Awakening (Business Briefcase) (Taschenbuch)
Debra Amidon has provided a much needed synthesis of the emerging concepts from chaos theory , complex systems, self organizing communities, learning organizations and knowledge management practices to provide a guide to accelerating innovation in our companies. I have recommended this book to the CEOs in the Renaissance Executive Forums around the country. When you use Debra's book along with "The 2000 Percent Solution", a new book by Donald Mitchell you have a combination of advanced theories and practical experience to employee as you focus on the constant need to find new ways (innovation)to solve problems, new and old.
