I read the book for a seminar on American Literature after 1945 and enjoyed reading, especially "The Pedersen Kid" which is quite a fascinating and entertaining but also rich in content short story.
A boy, son of the neighbour named Pedersen, is found almost dead in the snow. The boy tells a quite shocking and frightening story: his family was killed by a man wearing yellow gloves, a green mackinaw, a black stocking, and a gun. The boy is the only survivor and made his way through a blizzard to the House of the family, whose son Jorge tells the story. The family is alerted and decides to look after the Pedersens' house. They (Pa, Big Hans and Jorge), as well, make their way through the snow, reach the Pedersens' house, and discover something appalling and terrifying at the Perdersens' that will cost lifes...
I can only recommend the book with all it's brilliant and very well narrated stories, you won't regret reading it!!
