This text is in English & French. This showcases 50 of the best artists in the field of magic realism, showing the nature and diversity of the style with some 200 images. The most important Guest of Honour is Gil Bruvel from USA with 16 pages of his art. Other artists featured with a few paintings (or sculpture) each, include Claus Brusen, David Bowers, Steven Kenny, Kinuko Craft, Wolfgang Harms, Brigid Marlin, Margaret Bowland, Stephanie Henderson, Bruno Di Maio and others. Beside the artists it will also feature a piece from Jon Beinart, a publisher from Downunder also working very hard to get recognition for the art of the imaginative. This is the second volume of an annual gallery collection of magic realism.
Über den Autor
Claus Brusen is an award-winning artist, a curator, and a publisher. He is the author of Dreamscape 1, Dreamscape 2, Galleri Brusen, H.C. Andersen, and Venus and the Female Intuition. His paintings are on permanent display at Amalienborg Palace in Copenhagen and they have been sold and exhibited throughout Europe and the United States. He is the founder of the Center for Art and Imaginary Realism, a cofounder and member of International Fantasy Realism, and a member of the Society for Art of the Imagination.

There's art from all sorts of medium, from oils to sculptures. The paintings are beautifully rendered and evokes a sense of wonder, the same sort of feeling you get when viewing Salvador Dali's art.
This is quite unlike any other art books I collect because of the subject. The only ones which I can easily describe are the portraits and fine art style figure paintings (think the old masters style). The rest are difficult to describe with words and are better seen. "A picture says a thousand words" is apt here.
A wonderful book for those who like the magic realism genre.

A great collection of artwork

This book contains some very beautiful work within the "magic realism" genre. If you like the cover, there is a good chance you'll love the book. If you appreciate skill and technique in artwork, you'll like this book. Some of the work depicts the nude human figure, so its not for kids or people who despise the human figure.
I think this book is awesome and wish there were more like it. I'm tired of modern art and pop surrealism and every other genre that got the spotlight for the past couple of years. This work is inspiring and encourages me to push the limits with my own artwork. I highly recommend this book.
