A pure product of Hollywood, she abides across time as brightly as two other self-inventors, Charlie Chaplin and Cary Grant. Few things make an afterlife blaze more mythically than a sexual reputation - ask Cleopatra. Norma Jean paid a huge price to become Marilyn, yet here she is - still setting the bar high for all other would-be goddesses. Dieses Buch lässt jedes Herz eines Marilyn-Monroe-Fans höher schlagen.Es gibt eine umfangreiche Biografie und eine Auflistung ihrer ganzen Filme - von der ungenannten Statistin bis hin zur Hauptdarstellerin. Zu jedem Film gibt es einige Bilder, die mit kurzen Sätzen kommentiert werden.
Im Großen und Ganzen ist das Buch ein voller Erfolg, dem es an Nichts fehlt.
Es wäre toll, wenn noch weitere Titel dieser Buchreihe erscheinen würden:

-Joan Crawford
-Barbara Stanwyck

1st rate Marilyn Monroe Primer!

This is a good book for those that are "new" to Marilyn.
Packed with photographs, most in color & a few rare shots; the story about Marilyn's life & films is rather skimpy however. A two page summary of Marilyn's life introduces us to the subject at hand. Picture captions "teasing" the reader with tidbits of information will hopefully pique one's interest enough to read other books to obtain the entire story of Monroe's life because that is it for the facts this book relates! Marilyn's quotes are scattered liberally throughout the book in 3 different languages, as is all text; English, German, & French.
Strangely enough, even when dealing with the parameters of this format; the film BUS STOP though highly praised is only given two photographs. Most of Marilyn's later work gets 6 or more pictures with the narrative captions.

Thats one especially great thing I can say about this book is the quantity of pictures. I own alot of Monroe books and I got alot more from this book than I expected. Lots of valuable info for new Marilyn fans also. Great book at great price!

Yes, another Marilyn picture book. Most pictures previously published, but a few new ones. I liked the format of the book and the good price. The seller provided very good service - quick, courteous, accurate.
