First of all can I say Grr... the dude on this cover is something else, I love a good muscly back shot. Mmm... Christ, I'm such a perv, but I digress. The cover is amazing, must be something in the water this year because I'm seeing a lot of great covers.

Okay, so in this book we are introduced to Nicolae. *sigh* Okay, I'm sorry but can I just point out that I totally love this man, he has made a place for himself in my heart. Something I didn't think possible because Winter (Grr...) dominates it. Felicity was determined to find a character to trump my Winter, it didn't exactly work because I'm crazy obsessed with him. But at least I let Nicolae in, and he is super yummy. I'm sure you're pleased with yourself Felicity... lmao.

Now, back to the review. We find Nicolae running through the Canadian wilderness with his animal wolf pack, the closest thing he's had to a family in nearly one hundred years. I swear I melted for him reading this book, he'd been through so much pain and heartache only to hide himself away from the world. He lost his Were pack to the cruel hands of the Tenebrae Bloodline, can I just say *gasp* I really hope Venturi had nothing to do with it. Even though we all know he a naughty boy I don't want to picture him hurting Nicolae. I refuse to! So, following years of torture at the hands of their 'Masters' Nicolae and his kin decide to escape, but sadly he's the only one that gets away. His people protect their Alpha and sacrifice themselves for him. Since then Nicolae has blamed himself for their deaths, he sees himself as a failure. When in truth he is a strong, dominating, if not dark and brooding man. Plus, he's just down right sexy! Then of course there is his protective and caring side, the part of himself which he reserves for his animal wolf pack, and one lucky lady. Mmm... The perfect alpha male.

While out hunting with the wolves Nicolae comes across several strange men in the forest. Men armed to the teeth and obviously looking for something, or someone. Worried about the pack Nicolae follows them, until they discover him and he flees, stumbling across a beautiful and unconscious woman. When he realises that she is not a woman but a vampire, as he puts it, Nicolae turns to leave. But he can't do it, he takes her home and the attraction he initially felt grows into something amazing.

Tatyana wakes to find herself in a strange house, with a strange man standing over her, she does the only thing she knows how and attacks in order to protect herself. With the first taste of his blood she knows he's a were-wolf and fear sets in, she's too weak to fight him off. Little did she know that he was already wanting a piece of her, in a good way. I really love this character, as I've said before I hate seeing heroines who act all brave but are really wee girls who run and hide behind their men. Luckily Felicity never provides this type of heroine and Tatyana totally kicks ass. She is brave, fierce, and deadly... a true vamp through and through. She takes crap from no-one, and protects Nicolae as much as he protects her. Then there's her caring side, her softer side, which she shows Nicolae and soothes his wounded heart and soul with.

As they get to know each other Tatyana discovers that Nicolae suffered in one of the compounds and she makes a point of letting him know her thoughts on places like that, and her Bloodlines, the Nocens, views on keeping slaves. She has good relationships with the Were-wolves who work for her Bloodline, well as good of a relationship as the damn Law-keepers allow (I fecking hate those dudes, always getting in the way). She explains to Nicolae how the world has changed, how the Bloodlines have evolved and it makes him melt a little more for her each time. Ohh... I loved watching them break each others resolves and worm their way into the others heart. It was great. Normally I'd be calling Tatyana a bitch for hogging such a great man right now, but I really can't do it. I like her too much, and she totally deserves herself some hunky alpha. Nicolae is as lucky to have her as she is to have him.

As usual we get a good helping of action and loving in this book. The fight scenes were great, and as you all know I love me some action. It was great how Felicity described the Were's shifting. I really felt as if I was watching the change and the fighting going on right in front of me. And like I said before Tatyana kicks ass, and Nicolae is just amazing so all the better... lol. Now, the love scenes... Ohh... but wow. I cheered when they finally gave in to their cravings, all I can say yea Tatyana, that girl went and took what she wanted. As much as I enjoyed their loving I honestly think that the hottest part of the book was when they cleaned up each others wounds following their fight with the Were packs alpha. Mmm... I never imagined clinical work could be so god damn sexy. It was hot! Really! Just wait and see...

Nicolae is a werewolf who escaped from a life of slavery, over 100 years ago. His price for being free, however is the reason Nicolae has stayed in seclusion, refused to join another pack and can only find solice in the local wolfs(not were). Tatyana is a vampire hunting down the Hunters who killed her sire. When Taytana is injured by the Hunters an unlikely hero comes to the rescue. What will happen when Taytana wakes up and realizes her enemy is not what he seems. Tatyana has to fight for her life while healing and fight for her future with her unlikely hero.

Ok, so I didn't want to give too much away, sorry if it's a little cheezy, you know you love it! Anyways, I really enjoyed this story. It was very sweet and it made me warm and fuzzy inside.

There is romance, of course, however the action in the story really got to me. I was literally in the edge of my seat, biting my nails, during the main fight scene. It was really good!

I highly recommend this book, it is a short read, I think 137 pages or so. There was a lot of info scrunched into this book, it was a little tedious in places, but if you skim through some of it, you wont be lost when you get back to the love and action parts of the story.

Cover love... I must say this cover drew me in. Nicolae on the front cover is one muscular, sexy werewolf ***swoon *** everything you see is what you get! They say don't judge a book by its cover but this one is certainly no disappointment... Felicity never disappoints with her art work and cover love!!
Story -
Nicolae and his wolf pack are running through the wilderness, when he picks up a scent not far from hunters nearby. He stumbles across an injured beautiful woman unconscious and bleeding, his past tells him to kill her, but his gut tells him to save her - she is a vampire. Something he loathes and hates down to his core.

Nicolae's past has come back to haunt him, his lost his entire pack to a cavern of vampires- *The Tenabrae * a century ago. His pack and him tried to escape and in the process he lost everyone close to him. He was the Alpha and it was their job to protect him at all costs - which was their lives. This he will never forgive himself for. Nicolae was tortured, and kept as a slave that whole time then to escape and find his new found freedom in the mountains far away with no one.

Nicolae now runs with a local pack, he only interest in keeping to himself and living his own life. Nicolae is a strong, dominating character, suffering and leading a life hidden, damaged and withdrawn into only his own existence. Not letting anyone in, in sheer worry that some day he may also lose them to. His past constantly haunts him; he can never forgive himself for loosing everyone he cares about. so now he chooses to broad in the mountains and suffer in silence. Nicolae comes across as a strong character, capable of some kick arse stuff, but he is definitely a tortured soul in need of saving. Compassionate and caring, dam hot and sexy how can one man posses all these qualities you say!! Read the book and find out... You find yourself feeling drawn in by his sadness, but also at his boldness and caring character.

Nicole decides to take this injured woman home despite what his gut tells him. Tatyana finds she awakes, in a strange place, to be faced head on with Nicolae her first instincts to attack him - the vampire in her, she tastes his blood and realizes he is a werewolf and no match for her. Nicolae comes across cold and resentful full of hate and loathing and Tatyana tried to explain to him that things have changed, they have evolved.

In time Nicolae tells Tatyana of his past- her shock warms Nicolae's heart and slowly he lets her in. Tatyana informs Nicolae that her coven * Nocens* are not like that that, things have changed and evolved, they now work with werewolves in unison , in the best possible way in which the Law keepers allow them to.

Tatyana explains to Nicolae why she has come so far from home, Nicolae lets her in little bit by little bit, feeling her pain at the loss of a loved one as well. The more he finds out about Tatyana he starts to realize that things have changed. Tatyana's character is kick arse, and strong, brave and vicious yet also has that depth to love, but was also able to display he weaknesses. She was one kick arse vampire !! I enjoyed watching the resolve between the two characters, them try to deny the feelings they have but even they both can feel it.

Hunters Moon has that perfect amount of equal balance between love- romance and suspense. A fluent storyline that keeps you intrigued throughout the whole read. Chapters followed smoothly, character development great ! Descriptions in the book you could envisage at times I felt I was there and able to feel the snow under my feet and the cool breeze in the air and even picture the cottage. The romance was sensual, and luscious and in the end magnetic and electifying. This I enjoy in a romance. I know I'm a romantic at heart, but this had that perfect amount of heat. * I once again have fallen in love * Nicolae comes across strong and evasive yet also able to let his resistance down. The characters were well described and new characters introduced. The constant battle between Nicolae and Tatyana was enjoyable they both wouldn't let down their resistances, but in time they both opened up and accepted they both had strong feeling no matter how wrong it maybe. Dialogue felt natural enough and everything flowed smoothly and fluently almost like poetry. The ending was perfect; I was no left hanging and wandering mouth agape. I was content! More that I was star struck but Nicolaes strong sexy character. ** I know I have said this before **
Overall *Hunters Moon * was action packed full of romance, never a dull moment, providing the reader with everything you could want and more!
Felicity never disappoints and I must say one thing that always captivates me is the in-depth details she provides in her work. The emotions are felt, described completely, the scenery, the appearances; it's like living in the book whilst reading.
