Odile Gilbert is a hairstylist of international renown, and Her Style is a re-print of the sold-out 2003 book that showcased her lavish creations. As one of the most accomplished and in-demand in her profession, Gilbert approaches her work as a sculptor would, interpreting historical styles and ethnic references, and often incorporating materials such as feathers, gold dust and jewels. Born in Brittany in 1957, Odile Gilbert apprenticed with Bruno Pittini in Paris in 1975, before moving to New York in 1982 to work with photographers such as Richard Avedon, Helmut Newton and Steven Klein. Gilbert has collaborated with the most prestigious fashion brands including Chanel, Calvin Klein, Jean-Paul Gaultier and Sonia Rykiel. In 2006 she was awarded the Chevalier des Arts et Lettres.
