This book should be studied by students and practitioners of Chinese internal martial arts, Chinese medicine, and all others using Meridians in their practices... This is one of the few books that gives a Qigong practice which allows you to feel or sense your own Meridians and Acupoints. It also teaches you how to inject Qi into Acupoints. -- Marty Eisen, PhD, Yang Sheng Magazine This new work is a treasure trove of information about Chinese medicine and Nei Gong... I found this a fascinating book and would highly recommend it to any qigong practitioner or Chinese medicine practitioner/student. -- Damo's explanations and insights are indispensable. Whether you are just beginning your journey of personal development with an interest in philosophical and spiritual thought, or even if you are a fully qualified practitioner of Chinese medicine, Heavenly Streams will certainly enrich your practice. -- from the foreword by Rob Aspell, Practitioner of Chinese Medicine and the Daoist Arts Like all the ancient Daoist traditions, the art of classical Chinese medicine is one rooted in experiential learning. In Heavenly Streams, Damo Mitchell shares an inner method to access our meridians and points. It is a valuable guidebook for those interested in practicing with the subtle energies of their own bodies. -- Master Zhongxian Wu, a lifelong Daoist practitioner, is the author of numerous books on Daoist traditions, including Vital Breath of the Dao and Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches - TianGan DiZhi Heavenly Streams not only provides a truly comprehensive introduction to Nei Gong and Chinese medicine from the point of view of Daoism but offers the reader an effective way to understand this information within themselves. -- Nick Lowe, practitioner of Chinese Medicine and Daoist Qigong Instructor Delivered with an informal familiarity that has already sparked so many imaginations at Damo's course lectures across Europe and the United States, Heavenly Streams peels away Daoism's persistently obscure mystical dogma to put today's practitioners in touch with internal arts and the energetic realm. -- Steve Galloway, Taiji Teacher and Owner of the Taiji Online website

The art of connecting with, feeling and adjusting the energy body using the consciousness is a key aspect of Nei Gong and Qi Gong. It sits somewhere between Qi Gong, meditation and the lesser-known art of Shen Gong, and although it is known in China it has never before been written about in an accessible way in the West.

Damo Mitchell provides step-by-step instructions on how to experience the various elements which make up the energy body, explaining how to identify and feel these, and how to diagnose imbalances and restore harmony. He describes the nature of the five elements, the meridians and the meridian points, inviting the reader to experience them through guided internal exercises using the body, breath and mind. Instructional drawings and photographs are included throughout the book.

Connecting the fundamentals of Chinese medicine with the lesser-known spiritual and esoteric aspects of practice, this book will be of great interest to intermediate and advanced practitioners of Qi Gong, Nei Gong, Taijiquan and Chinese medicine.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Finally someone who really knows what he write about 27. Oktober 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf
I'm so sick of all this "supreme masters" which behaves like the Pope and never reveals the most fundamental aspects of energy work, hiding their teaching, propagating only their expensive seminars and so on. The problem is, that people has forgotten that Nei Gong is science and not religion.

Damien Mitchell is different, very different. Humbly he introduce a long hidden secret with simple steps and the most important part is, he explains what to expect when you go into the right direction during your training (what he does in all his books).

I always wondered how the ancient Chinese was able to discover the acupuncture points and meridians, as also their energetic qualities. Damien explains that your brain can tune into the frequency of the meridians by a simple technique and then the wonder happens, you can really feel the energy inside your meridian and their quality, like fire or water or earth. It's one of the most exciting things I've learned so far. Our body was really created in a wonderful manner.

I hope Damien will write more books on such interesting topics. And other authors should follow his example and putting away their unnecessary secrecy.

Dieses Buch ist das allerbeste, was je ich über dieses Thema las. Gründlich, "eigen", tief, sehr lehrreich, zumindest für mich...

5.0 von 5 Sternen Excellent and rare information 6. Juni 2013
Von Peter Payne - Veröffentlicht auf
Format:Taschenbuch|Verifizierter Kauf
I have been involved in internal martial arts and spirituality for 50 years. I have noted over time how more and more information, previously hard to obtain, has been made available. This book continues the trend.
The specific strength of this book is a detailed, precise and accurate explanation of the process of focusing awareness on the acupuncture points and meridians of the body as a Qigong practice. This is rarely explained in enough detail to enable one to practice it without personal instruction or prior knowledge. This book does the trick.
Mitchell also presents information easily accessible elsewhere: the locations and functions of the various points and meridians. He does so (as far as I can judge) accurately and succinctly.
It appears to me that Mitchell is a well-qualified teacher who wants to communicate accurate and helpful information, and is able to do so with welcome clarity.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Easy to read, full of hard to find info and seems completely legit. 24. Juni 2013

It's almost written as though you're talking to him, as opposed to reading a text book. He speaks from experience and it shows. No mindlessly repeating what others have said. I have read alot of books about chi and if I were going to pick two to recommend it would be this and Daoist Nei Gong, his previous book.

While I do not personally agree with everything the author says based on my own experience, what makes this books a rare gem, is that it is based on his quality experience, and will move you in the right direction both in approach and wisdom. Thanks to the author, and I highly recommend it for practitioners who can apply themselves in this way.

5.0 von 5 Sternen A wonderful collection of equally accessible and powerful teaching 24. Februar 2014
Von Matthew Russell - Veröffentlicht auf
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf
Mitchell has really gifted us with a gem. He provides a clear and concise methodology for connecting the mind into the meridian channels and acupuncture points. His techniques for dredging the channels, although simple, are remarkably wonderful. I couldn't be happier to have picked this one up. Thanks!
