'Derek is the model of the modern medium.' Guardian Weekend 'Acorah is regarded by some as the most inspirational living medium in the UK.' Independent 'Derek [is] now the country's best-known ghost hunter.' The Sun 'Britain's best-known medium -- Acorah is a thoroughly modern medium.' The Express
This is an extensive guide covering one hundred 'haunted' sites throughout the British Isles. It includes stories of Derek's incredible ghostly encounters, and a guide to what you can expect to find at each location, as well as detailed information on opening hours and access. This fascinating book has a unique introduction by Derek Acorah and is interspersed with anecdotes from his amazing ghost hunting experiences. The guide has a map with each section and ghostly sites helpfully ordered by county or geographical area. It is perfect for a family holiday - make sure your Easter break takes in pubs, stately homes and haunted churches. It includes not only famous sites but also ones off the beaten track, ranging from public buildings to private homes to stately residences, pubs, and hotels.Alle Produktbeschreibungen

The book is organized by geographical areas of Britain, and features maps, detailed descriptions of the history and reported paranormal activity of each site, as well as practical information such as websites and phone numbers. Interspersed throughout are anecdotes from Derek's own experiences, as well as useful tips on ghosthunting procedure. It is an extremely diligent and comprehensive accounting.
With this book, you'll be able to plan a complete ghosthunting itinerary, or ascertain whether there are any haunted locations coincident to your "regular" trip plans. From the Last Drop Tavern in Edinburgh (hint: it's not a pint of beer that "last drop" refers to; think: gallows), to Dublin's Grand Opera House, to Oliver Cromwell's House at Ely, there is not an area of the Isles that goes undocumented.
Derek is an acclaimed medium, now known throughout the world for his mediumistic abilities and spiritualist work. He is increasingly familiar to Americans through the U.S.'s Travel Channel's broadcasts of Most Haunted, and Derek Acorah's Ghost Towns. His books are consistently long lived on bestseller lists in Britain. I have loved each of his books, and this one more than measures up to the rest of his catalog.
