Mir geht es so wie vielen, dass ich die fertigen Filme bei weitem nicht so berauschend finde wie die Bücher. Das liegt (neben den gekürzten Handlungssträngen) vor allem an Details, die in den Filmen durch die Laufzeitbegrenzung etwas zu kurz kommen. Wenn ich mir dann das Bonusmateial der Ultimate Editions anschaue, muss ich dann doch sagen: "Es ist alles schon liebevoll durchdacht und detailliert, man nimmt es im fertigen Film nur nicht richtig wahr."
Dieses Buch legt dabei noch eine ordentliche Schippe drauf: Ich hätte mir nie träumen lassen, WIE detailliert doch die ganzen Requisiten sind! Dem Buch sind einige dieser kleinen Besonderheiten beigefügt, sodass ich immer wieder staunen muss. Meine Lieblingsbeispiele sind die Programmhefte für den Quidditch-WorldCup und den Weihnachtsball. Ich kann mich nicht erinnern, diese Requisiten im Film überhaupt gesehen zu haben und trotzdem wurden sie wunderschön gestaltet und mit den "realen" Programmpunkten gefüllt.
Ebenfalls dabei und eine sehr witzige Idee, wie ich finde, sind Aufkleber für Zaubertrankflaschen, nur leider etwas zu schade sie auch zu verwenden.
Inhaltlich kann ich auch nicht meckern, es stecken sehr viele Hintergrundinfos drin, inklusive einer kleinen Vorschau für "Deathly Hallows Part 2".
Einziges "Manko" dieses Buches ist, dass die Schnittkanten aufgrund der Beigaben nicht ganz plan schließen (es liegt halt was zwischen den Seiten), aber da kann man locker drüber hinwegsehen!
Mein Fazit:
Wer Spaß an den Making-Ofs der Ultimate Editions hat, kann mit diesem Buch nix verkehrt machen, man erfährt doch noch so einiges und die Beigaben sind einfach der Knaller=)

There still isn't any Harry Potter art books, but this movie companion is probably the best thing any fan could wish for.
Harry Potter Wizardry is 160-page hardcover and designed like a scrapbook with little goodies ' booklets, stickers, maps, etc - attached to the pages. The cover is also nicely embossed. It's printed by publisher Collins Design.
The book covers all the seven films, including a sneak at at Deathly Hallows Part 2. It's packed with all sorts of interesting things from the Harry Potter movies. There are chapters on characters, the schools, mythical creatures, strange locations and stories about the wizardry world. You can read about all the teachers Harry had, the different villains from each movies, Ministry of Magic or all the strange inventions created by Ron's twin brothers.
There are plenty of photos shot behind the scenes showing the sets, the miniatures and models, actors and there are even some pieces of artwork and sketches.
The commentary provided includes interviews with the actors and staff. They talk about everything from creating sets like the Hogwarts castle to how they film the movie with computer graphics elements. I'm impressed with how much content is included.
This is the book Harry Potter fans have been waiting for. Grab it.

This book is the perfect look behind the magic! It's one of the best movie series encyclopedias I ever saw. It's done with so much love in details and there are so much informations, sketches and pictures. Actors talk about their character and how they improved thru the years. There are so much precious artefacts like the Marauders-map, the letter from Hogwarts to Harry or Proclamations.
If you wanna know why Dementors glide the way they do - if you wonder how Hippogriffs fly ... it's all in that book. But you also read how the Hogwarts architect did the moving staircases work.
You are a real fan of Harry Potter? So you seriously need this book - it's an amazing and comprehensive behind-the-scenes look at the making of the Harry Potter film series.
