... was dieses Mal D. Steel zu Wege gebracht hat. Für mich ist dies das schlechteste Buch, das ich von ihr bisher gelesen habe. Man muss sich erst bis zur Hälfte des Werkes vorkämpfen, bis die Geschichte langsam ins Rollen kommt. Leider ist sie ziemlich flach und vorhersehbar und mit sehr vielen Wiederholungen gespickt - eigentlich gar nicht einer D. Steel würdig. Schade!

This story and its outcome is somewhat predictable, like many of her books, but this one is so extraordinarily boring on top of it, that I had to fight sleep each time I picked up the book!
I have always loved Danielle Steel's books, but it seems as if the last books have been written by someone else - they are not Danielle-Steel-like. And Mrs. Steel repeats and repeats and repeats as if she has to fill the pages - and it adds nothing to the story, doesn't spike it up either.
Sorry, Mrs. Steel, this is definitely not one of your best and I will go back to reading your real old books I have not yet read and keep hoping for better books from you in the future.

Faithful reader to Mrs Steel for years, I was very disappointed by this novel. Living close to the country reviewed in this book I found many details ridiculous. A bit of more thoroughful research on Lichtenstein was needed. Plus the story goes at a very slow rythm, repeating endlessly details not relevant for the story.
Looks like it has been written by some "apprentice" writer. Let's wait for her next novel so see if Mrs Steel is more inspired by other surroundings
