Das Buch ist sehr allgemein gehalten für meine Begriffe. Basics für komplette Neulinge im Musik Marketing sind dabei, konkrete Ansätze, Anregungen oder komplexere Konzepte fehlen jedoch ganz. Wer sich schon ein bißchen mit dem Thema beschäftigt hat, oder auch wer den Blog des Autors kennt erfährt hier nichts neues.

DIY marketing for music, though the advice is valid for any field. Do it yourself, honestly, ethically, effectively, and guilt-free. You don't have to be a dirty rotten sleazy capitalist pig to market music (or anything else) and make money. Bob shows you how to do it. I met Bob when he was a guest speaker at a songwriting convention I attended. His advice was good then, and here it is in an ebook. The fact that I read his book and am writing a review is testament to how good he is at getting people to act. Saving my pennies so I can get the rest of the book.

Bob's book and approaches to music marketing give you step by step methods for taking your understanding and efforts to the next level. I've seen bloggers comment that as a musician in today's climate, you should read everything by Bob. I've followed this advice and have been glad I did! This book and material are the core of Bob's approach to getting your music out to your fans. After taking Bob's master course, I knew I must invest in this book. It's a tremendous value and will give you direction and focus for helping make your dreams come true!

How does a part time songwriter/musician like myself find time to promote his music? For those of us with a full time day job, there's precious little time left for gigging and rehearsing, much less for booking and promoting (and for me, that includes a lot of research and learning how to promote effectively).

That's where Bob's books have been a godsend. I used to scour the internet, looking for trustworthy tools (for things like building a web site, selling mp3s, reaching [and building] my audience, all on a budget). It was all pretty overwhelming. I spent a lot of time searching and trying to evaluate the solutions out there. And it seemed there were more of them every day.

Now I let Bob do the research. He finds what works and reports back in his books and blog. He gives us real world examples of techniques that have worked and frees us up to make more music. In his books, there are so many creative ideas to choose from. Even one or two would be well worth the cost of the book. Not all ideas will work for all situations, so it's simply a matter of finding ones that fit your situation, adapting them to your own specifications and putting them into practice.

Now I no longer scour the internet in frustration. Instead I follow the guidelines and suggestions in Bob Baker's books, videos, emails and blog posts. It saves me a lot of time and it works for my band, Soulpajamas.
