I have read this trilogy a few weeks ago. It was highly addictive, so I read all three books in a row, which I really do only extremely seldom.
These books were probably inspired by the 50 Shades hype. But I don't mind that at all since I mostly liked the Shades of Grey books. Yet, there were some things that I really disliked about them. I thought the character of Christian was way too overdrawn. In In Flight I really liked the dynamics between James and Bianca (can't write or say that name without thinking of Bernard and Biance, dammit). Sure enough, James is a kinky, powerful and somewhat arrogant bastard with a troubled past. But this past doesn't occasionally make him a whimpering mess. He can suffer and still be a man.
I loved to read how those two find their way to each other. Bianca never expects James to be able to have something permanent so she plans to get whatever she can have from him. She finds out that she's a natural submissive and that James can give her just what she needs. Of course, James is over-possessive BUT that is not ridiculously exaggerated. No, he does have a very good reason for it. Because there is great danger lurking in Bianca's past.
I won't say too much now about the next two novels because I don't want to spill anything and spoil your fun to read all of them yourselves.
After the major cliffhanger at the end of book 1, James and Bianca have to come to terms with their problems. Especially Bianca has to make up her mind and decide what exactly it is she wants from James and what she can give to him.
I should have waited a bit before reading the final book in the series. But I just wanted to know how the story would end. There weren't too many new things happening, many things felt familiar from the first two books. But ladies, I can assure you that the erotic scenes don't get as boring throughout the books as in 50 Shades. And in the end, being dominant, a sadist, is not some dark and evil side. No, it's just a different kind of enjoying physical love. The things they try in the bedroom don't weaken or slow down, they rather become more intense.
In the end, I was very satisfied with this trilogy and I would recommend it to all lovers of adult romance who like a kinky streak to their reading.
