Format: Taschenbuch
Voraussetzung ist natürlich die Beherrschung der englischen Sprache, ein Wörterbuch tuts auch.
Die Rezepte sind einfach nur lecker und wirklich für jeden zu schaffen!
Es sind sehr interessante Anregungen zum Ausprobieren vorhanden, eine neue Erfahrung für den Gaumen.
Das Taschenbuchformat finde ich angenehm, weil platzsparend, nur die Seiten bleiben nicht so schön offen liegen wie bei einem großen, ist aber nicht weiter schlimm.
Die Fotos sind schön und regen den Appetit zum Backen an und natürlich zu speisen, eine Kuchenparty zu schmeißen oder was sonst...

I have had this book for quite a while now and I have made a few recipes. I found a few of them to be too sweet for my taste but then I don't really like very sweet cakes or other desserts. But others are really wonderful and the photos are very inspiring. I still have a lot of recipes to go but among my favorites are the Cherry and Marzipan Cake, the Devonshire Honey Cake, the Cinnamon Nutela Cake, the Carrot, Apple and Raisin Cake and the Yummy Scrummy Carrot Cake. The Olive Cake was the only one that didn't quite work out. I tried it several times as the olive oil escaped through the bottom of my tin the first time I made it but I think that there is too much olive oil in this recipe. Other than that this is a little book that contains such a lot of recipes (101, so they say, I haven't counted them!) and each of them seems to be worth trying out! I really recommend it!

If you are on a diet, it might be best to turn away now. A further entrant to the popular range of recipe books by the BBC now provides 101 additional cakes and bakes that could add a few kilos or more without trouble to your waistline... and since the recipes look so easy to make as well one cannot rely upon prevarication to help reduce calorific intake.
These praiseworthy little books feature the recipe on one side and a full colour photograph on the facing page, put together into a tight little package that gives 101 different dishes for an unbeatable price.
Reviewing these books is actually quite hard. One cannot be critical of the approach taken by the entire series as there is nothing that can go wrong (doing a "King Alfred" not withstanding). . One cannot complain about the breadth of recipes, the price, the appearance, so one might be forced to complain about the sheer tempting nature of the recipes if one has to find something to complain about.
Split into six sections - large cakes, fresh fruit cakes, chocolate cakes and bakes, loaf cakes, small cakes and tray bakes and finally muffins and cookies - and backed up by a good little index you can, at-a-glance dig out that favourite recipe, find inspiration based on a particular ingredient or, of course, just browse through and be inspired.
Each recipe has even been "triple tested" by different cooks to ensure that the average home cook will have no problems, something some other cook books could well emulate. So far we have not found a bad book in this series and long may it continue.

This little book is like a treasure trove of heavenly delights. The recipes are SUPER simple, there's a picture for every cake or muffin you bake and the results, OMG! As another reviewer said, this is definitely the book I would save in a flood :)

The first recipe I tried from Good Food was raspberry brownies, from a Good Food magazine. The brownies were so good and everyone loved it. So much that I made it again and again, as desserts for my family (my elder kid even had it as breakfast) and also as gifts. So I when I picked one recipe to try from a Good Food cookbook, I had confidence. The first recipe I tried from this book was choca moca cake (chocolate + coffee). It turned out so good, very soft and delicious. Each recipe has a photo so you always know how the result will look like. I read through this book and so many other recipes look promising, and I marked a lot of them as "recipes I want to try". By the way, this is a British book so the recipes often call for self-raising flour. I hope you won't be put off by this because you can always substitute it with plain flour + baking powder + salt. All in all, this book is great for bakers.
