Kurzbeschreibung

Summoned to Rome by an old friend, a Jesuit scholar finds himself using a code discovered in the Bible to unearth an ancient, hidden chapel in the catacombs under the city. When a rogue force of Vatican security officials are alerted to his discovery, the priest flees to the Holy Land with a clue ... a clue that will lead him and a team of Israeli Christians to a much larger secret in the middle of the barren Negev Desert.

Meticulously researched and drawing on scientific fact, John Lyman's intriguing story takes readers into the world of scholars, archaeologists, code-breakers, and intelligence specialists who have discovered a prophetic code hidden within the Old Testament that authenticates the Bible as a book of supernatural origin and points to a divine plan. This gripping novel is truly a thought-provoking and action-packed thriller with implications for our future.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Roller Coaster Thriller 6. Februar 2010
Von D. Rumans - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Taschenbuch|Verifizierter Kauf
I have never read a roller coaster thriller like this before. Well researched and masterfully woven, this novel by John Lyman will glue you to your seat then have you hanging on with your fingernails as you take that unexpected hairpin turn. The struggle between good and evil is not contrived as in many popular thriller novels produced within the past 5-10 years. The manner in which protagonist, Leopold Amodeo (Leo) is presented, leading his band of Lions through the discovery of and confrontation with the antagonist is done with expert craftsmanship. The characters are believeable and vulnerable, not superhuman and all-knowing, which aids in making the novel much more approachable for the reader.
Since I work during the day, I would lay in bed reading at night, grab my husband's arm and with an "oh my gosh..." tell him about the next twist in the plot. From the prologue right though the last chapter this author had my attention. The epilogue left me wishing the book would never end. I can not wait for John's next book to be published!

5.0 von 5 Sternen Excellent Story 6. Februar 2011
Von Linda - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Gebundene Ausgabe|Verifizierter Kauf
I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the sequel to come out. It explored some themes I had not thought of. It was fast-paced and had good characters. I would like to see some of them more fully developed in the next book, like Lev, Ariella, and the Code Breaking team. I thought building in and telling the reader what each person's name meant was a great touch. It helped bring the story together. I don't usually write reviews for books, but I did for this one because I truly enjoyed reading it. Keep up the good work, Mr. Lyman, and thanks for the good read.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Great book, and without irreverence 22. Februar 2011

I often enjoy reading religious fiction, but don't enjoy the books with authors whom choose to debase my Christian faith. This was a great book that held my interest, and I really enjoyed it. I'm hoping to this author will have another title out soon. I was really glad it was available through Kindle.

Loved it, loved it, loved it. Supernatural, action, adventure and great characters make this book a winner. And you can't beat the price. It was so much more than I expected. I was highly entertained and I learned a few things. I hope to see another novel soon from this author.

3.0 von 5 Sternen Descriptions and narration 27. September 2011
Von Evangeline Han - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Taschenbuch
When John Lyman sent me the the book pitch, what caught my attention was that this book contained the theme of codes in the Torah. Intrigued, I couldn't turn down this book. What I liked about this book was the vivid portrayal of some scenes, especially the scenes involving spiritual encounters. I could easily picture those scenes and I shuddered at just thought of them. I also liked the way this book reinforces that Scripture is God-breathed and everything happens for a reason. However, this book is not without its faults. The narration was awkward at a few parts, especially the parts where similes were used. I also found it unthinkable that a priest could exclaim "Oh, my God." I don't come from a Catholic background, I come from a Protestant background. And I can't imagine any of the pastors I know exclaiming "Oh, my God." That would be viewed as sacrilegious. I completed God's Lions: The Secret Chapel with mixed feelings. I loved the vivid descriptions and will definitely pick this book up when I want to read a horror story, but I felt that the narration could have been better.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the author. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. In the wake of the countrys newfound wealth, a religion of consumerism had spurred a mindless pursuit for greater corporate profits. This greed-fueled race eventually led to companies sending millions of manufacturing jobs overseas, resulting in the decline of the cherished middle class who made their living making things. For the first time, Americas children were looking at a lower standard of living than their parents. Corporate profit and material possessions were the new idolatry, shoving Gods message of love thy neighbor into a dusty corner. "e;
