Kurzbeschreibung

Rocker Nugent shares his "Warrior Spirit"--a strict code of ethics, safety and discipline--and offers suggestions on how to live like a hero and pass that code down to children.

Der Autor über sein Buch

About God, Guns & Rock and Roll:
Get ready to roc, doc. You've just entered the world of Ted Nugent, where freedom reigns, thanks to our God-given right to self-defense and the Second Amendment, heroes rule-it's "we the people" NOT "we the sheeple"-and dinner comes care of "pistolero steakage." You thought the day of the patriot had gone. Guess again. The minuteman has come back to life as the raging Motor City Madman. Here's a hard rockin', hard workin' star, whose life is devoted to knocking down violent crime, knocking down drugs, and knocking down restrictions on American freedom-personally. As Ted says: you either believe in the Constitution and the Ten Commandments or YOU'VE GOT A PROBLEM- with him. And vengeance is his, sayeth the guitarboy. Ted celebrates the Spirit of the Wild "beyond the pavement"-from which all good things come. Here's nature as rock 'n' roll rehab, a return to the spirit, a dose of reality that doesn't come plastic-wrapped and styrofoamed. Ted takes you machine gunning with Aerosmith; backstage, busting drug dealers; and shows you how many rock stars took drugs and are dead, while he went hunting- and he's still Ted. And then there's kids- and Ted's patented, but freely shared, dramatic advocacy for kids to stay clean, stay cool, stay disciplined. Here's how to learn the "ballistics of spirituality", the duty of the hunter, the lesson that God is always watching. Here's bowhunting, rifle, shotgun, and handgun marksmanship as an exercise in self-control. Here's how to walk tall with your compass always pointed True North. Ted shows the way.

What others have said:

"Ted Nugent is, beyond argument, one of the good guys. In addition to his continuing career in broadcasting, and his mastery of the guitar, he's a frequent guest on one or another of the major TV shows. It can be said though, that his work for outdoor sports is his deepest concern. All those who share his commitment will enjoy his book." -Charlton Heston

"I have known Ted for many years, and I can't say that I always agree with him. I can't even say I often agree with him. But I respect him for this reason: in a world where fame makes people fat and satisfied, Ted continues to fight for his beliefs. He loves nature. And- as this book proves, page after page- he feels that living without passion is not really living. That, I agree with him on- wholeheartedly." -Mitch Albom, Syndicated columnist and ABC-radio host, Author "Tuesdays with Morrie"

"Don't let the pony tail fool you! Ted Nugent writes and speaks with passion based not upon opinion, but through research and personal experiences. I am fortunate to know Ted is for the good in all of us. Read, learn and join the cause! -Kirk Gibson -- Dieser Text bezieht sich auf eine vergriffene oder nicht verfügbare Ausgabe dieses Titels.

God, Guns and Rock-n-Roll is a collection of essays, rants, diatribes and stories told in gonzo style by the inexhaustible Ted Nugent. Loud mouthed, fist waving and in your face, this roller coaster ride celebration of individualism and pride demands the reader to react. Where most of Nuge's contemporaries have drugged themselves to death, Ted's life-long love affair with Mother Nature has him rocking into the new millenium. If you've got an open mind you might find that Ted and his huntin' buddies are not the bloodthirsty Bambi killers the liberal media would have you believe; rather, the hunter is portrayed accurately as active participant and steward of the world's wildlife. Guns? Oh, Ted loves 'em. And why not? He's a law-abiding citizen who will not succumb to being blamed for the wrongs of criminals. GG&RNR takes you on the road with Ted the rockstar, in the woods with Ted the Caveman, and into the arena of politics where drooling office holding pigs are the game of the day and verbal arrows are flung! You'll laugh and you'll think. And above all, agree or disagree, you'll be entertained. And that's what Ted's been about for over 30 years!

Even a dog could write a book called "Me and the bones I chew" and it would be a more interesting read. Hey Nugent, pull the trigger on yourself. We're so sick of you.

Straight Talk with Rare Insight 8. August 2000
Von Ein Kunde - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Gebundene Ausgabe
This book is a breath of fresh air. Not just for the great stories like hunting with Aerosmith and busting drug dealers backstage, but for his insights. Ted Nugent is not afraid to tell the truth--not just about God, Guns, and Rock 'n' Roll, but about society in general. The solution to schoolyard shootings is not to take away our guns (it's too late for that), but to spend time with our children. Yes, a radical concept. The Motor City Madman actually advocates taking control of your family, your life, and your very survival.

It's also refreshing to see one of the few (if not only) rock stars from the '70s who never took drugs.

It's sad to see that Ted Nugent is seen as a radical--he says families should spend time with their kids and that drugs and alcohol are bad for you. When I grew up this was called common sense. Thank God for Ted's refresher course.

Sweaty Teddy: Family Man 24. August 2000
Von Thomas C. Duensing - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Gebundene Ausgabe
Ted's book of "rantings" is a fun, fast read. The guy is "spot-on" regarding gun-rights and takes a common-sense position that is difficult to argue with. Here's a conservative guy who loves his family, God (gasp), guns (gasp!), and hunting (GASP!). There probably isn't a liberal alive that will like this book or will spend the time to really think about some of the things that Ted is talking about--pity.

Ted spends a lot of time talking about hunting and nature, and his love of the two. Although, I'm not a hunter, it made me much more interested in the sport.

He also discusses his family and how he has been so successful in creating a solid, close-knit unit. At times his writing is funny, sad, and touching.

Anyone who reads this will have to decide that Ted--who describes himself as "just a guitar player"--is one of the "good guys".

Should be required reading for all parents! 16. August 2000
Von Molly M. Freeman - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Gebundene Ausgabe
Ted Nugent may be a wild man, but he's a wild man whose heart is in the right place. What's important? Family first! His devotion to his wife and kids and other family members is exemplary. His aversion to drugs, alcohol and tobacco is amazing, considering his chosen field of endeavor. And he's right on target (no pun intended) when it comes to people's fascination with guns -- why not take this and channel it in a positive manner? Teach your kids gun safety and handling from an early age, just the way you teach them that the stove is hot but useful, matches can be dangerous but useful, the family car is potentially dangerous but useful, etc. Forget this Million Mom march stuff -- quit marching and go home, Moms AND Dads, and spend time with your kids and make sure you know where they are and what they're doing! And read this book -- by the way, you'll really enjoy it!
