The Most Thorough Book On Wiring A Les Paul - PERIOD.

When you buy one of Tim's books, you can always expect to get two very important things: 1. a book with a tremendous amount of highly relevant information (which will instantly classify you as an expert), and 2. a book with TONS of full-page photos and illustrations - helping to explain his ideas and concepts. And, this is book is no exception. At 250 pages, and with big photos and/or illustrations on every page, Tim makes learning seriously EASY. But, keep in mind - this book is not just for beginners; it's for anyone who wants to wire their 2-humbucker guitar - and to learn about plenty of options on alternative configurations.
If you have to buy just one book on wiring, I highly recommend Tim's book, THE NEW GIBSON LES PAUL AND EPIPHONE WIRING DIAGRAMS BOOK. This is book is an indispensable wireing resource

When my beat up old Tele started acting up I was hesitant to take it to my local
mega guitar mart as the teck was younger than my axe. I picked up Tim's Telemaster
Book. What an eye opener. When my buddy wanted to mod his Les Paul
I told him before you pick up a screw driver to check under the hood you need to
get a copy of Tim's The New Gibson Les Paul and Epiphone wiring diagrams book.
This book will set you free. I had a good understanding of the basics of wiring
but this book lays it out so effortlessly I would tell anyone with a Les Paul style
guitar this is book is indispensable. Even helped me with my Rick 360 setup.
Simply loaded with no-BS descriptions of How and Why pickups and the associated
electronics function together to make a great sounding Guitar. Where else can
you read about the theory and winding setups of multiple pickups and go the a website and
listen for yourself before you blow you hard earned dough on a new setup. Also If
you were thinking about messing with splitting your humbuckers and what you can do with them
with a little switch magic, again there is even a link to the demo sounds before you
even pickup a parts catalog to order.
When I decided the time was right to get a Les Paul, I had to purchase one for myself.

The book would be much more useful if . . .

Okay, while I still don't much care for the printed version of this book upon further review, I finally found the e-version which was included. That has everything I need. So, while I like the e-version, I still find the printed version to be less than satisfactory. I won't be returning it, but people should be aware that the printed version isn't nearly as useful as it could be.
When a book refers to color diagrams, it should actually have color diagrams, not black and white. This book is practically worthless as is because every page refers to "the color diagram below", etc. but all pictures are poorly reproduced in black and white. They aren't even scaled properly. When reduced for print, some photos are stretched and flattened.
So, I'll give the e-version 4 stars, the print version 2 stars. Average of 3.
