I read this book as a child and loved it. I've now read it to my 6 and 4 year old boys. They thought it was hilarious. They were excited about going to bed so they could hear the rest of the story, which is always a bonus for parents.

This book is very funny, also quite exciting. It is good for all ages even adults, Roald Dahl has done a good job here! The book is about George, a boy who does'nt like his grandmother very much, so he decides to make her some of his own medicine. Unfortunately it has a massive effect on her! (THAT I WON'T SAY)

I grew up with this book...all of Dahl's books, in fact. And this is the best. It must first be understood that Roald Dahl writes with a British background. A book about a boy making a deadly concoction for his grandmother, witches who hate children, a crocodile who eats children, etc. wouldn't really be accepted in America, right? But the way Dahl writes, and the way Blake illustrates makes his books so cute and amusing and just wonderful. I especially love the illustrations in this book. To see what happens to George's grandmother once she takes that sip of her tea with the stuff in it is SOSOSOO funny. I love it. And I'm 22 years old! I give this book as gifts. I found it odd but funny-in-a-weird-way how George's mother was sort of indifferent to what was happening to her mother (the grandmother).
Hahahahaaha to the infinity power.
