Kurzbeschreibung

Ben Wilder never really dreamt about becoming a rockstar. It was more of a given—his throne to inherit.

But the more he walks in his famous father’s footsteps, the more Ben sinks into the murky past that left his dad dead.

Katrina Hayes never dreamt about becoming a rockstar either. However, she does spend plenty of time dreaming about
one particular rockstar. But when she finally has the chance to meet Ben Wilder, it comes at a cost.
The price? Sacrificing a friendship that’s been in place since birth. And that’s just the finder’s fee.

You'll definitely want the second book after reading this one!! 30. Juli 2011
Von Wendy L. Hines - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Taschenbuch
Katrina is your average teenage girl who dances and has been best friends with Jackson since birth. Like any average teenage girl, she has a big crush on a superstar. In this particular instance, it is on teenage rockstar Ben Wilder.

Katrina's best friend Jackson entered a contest at school, and the winner gets to take part in directing a music video, something that Jackson is passionate about. Katrina is frustrated with Jackson because he has been so busy working on his contest entry, he hasn't had any time for her.

When Jackson wins the contest, Katrina is elated to find out Ben Wilder will be coming to town, her idol! Jackson is super excited about working on a music video with Ben and agrees to let Katrina meet him. But when they meet, something sparks between Ben and Katrina and now it is Jackson who is jealous.

After the three of them hang out, Ben offers Katrina a role in the video - the lead. She does a phenomenal job and acquires fifteen minutes of fame. But at what cost?

Ben's father used to be famous too, in fact, he left his secrets on how he succeeded to Ben, before he overdosed and died. Ben doesn't want to walk in his father's footsteps. Ben is a hard character to like. Katrina and Jackson, on the other hand, are believable characters and their interaction is compelling and entertaining.

This is the first book in the Wilder series, and you'll definitely want the second book after reading this one!! Great young adult reading with a triangle, superstardom and highschool life. There are some secrets to be revealed and I can't wait to see where Lori Folkman takes these characters next.

Exciting Teen Romance/Mystery 16. August 2011

Wilder Times is an exciting teen romance and being a teenager myself (at an earlier time in my life) I can relate to Kat's excitment at getting to meet and eventually date her "dream" boy Ben Wilder. It has a believable storyline and the fun thing about this book is that it's not just about the couple; there are mysterious little questions wanting to be answered throughout the book regarding the other characters and they don't really get answered, so you anxiously await book 2. The book also offers alot of little suprises that you aren't expecting. Lori Folkman has a great imagination. If her book career doesn't work out she should look into being a song writer and/or video producer!
Lacking 20. April 2012

Generations has a cute premise. We have all dreamed of somehow having the opportunity to meet our celebrity crush and then somehow magically getting them to fall in love with us and date us. For Kat, this dream becomes a reality and she sees just how difficult dating a celebrity can be. However, while I like the idea, the execution falls flat.

There are many problems that turn this book from prevent this novel from being a decent teen romance, the biggest of which is the completely unnatural reactions and dialogue of the characters. For example, take when Ben meets Kat for the first time:

"Hi, I'm Cat."

As in meow? Was this some sort of pick-up line? Was he the mouse?

I don't know anyone who would actually think this. Kat is a common enough name that I don't see why Ben would be confused by it.

The second biggest problem is how fast conflicts resolve. There is a huge relationship conflict between Ben and Kat introduced about three-quarters of the way through the book that magically disappears. Not only did this leave me unsatisfied, since I expected more of a climax, but it also made me doubt how true Ben and Kat's relationship is (which is especially bad since it's the main focus of the novel). All we really see about their "love" for each other is how they pine away when the other isn't near. Not my idea of a decent relationship. They act more like twelve-year-olds than teenagers on the brink of adulthood.

Other things that bothered me were the pacing, lack of setting detail, and general plot development. However, it wasn't all bad. There were some parts that were truly funny and enjoyable, but overall, I just couldn't get past all problems to enjoy the good parts.
