A few shards survive in the sandy ruins of Hemingway's garden of Eden: the pastoral and sensual delights of loving and swimming in Provence and Spain; the pleasure the hero, a novelist, feels when he writes "truly" about his father and hunting in Africa. The rest is madness, cruelty, and corruption. Unfortunately, neither the joy nor the terror profoundly engages the reader. The bisexual grotesqueries that bind David Bourne, his antic wife, and their complaisant woman lover are for the most part silly or banal, not even sufficiently bizarre to shock. What we have here is juiceless gossip. As fiction, the book utterly failsclumsily plotted, thematically vague and indecisive, the characters unfleshed caricatures. Even Hemingway's lyrical eloquence is stripped to frayed cliches. How then to justify publishing an edited version of a manuscript Hemingway labored over unsuccessfully for 15 years? Hemingway has long been known as a master of the English language and perhaps the greatest literary mind of the twentieth century, but with The Garden of Eden he moves into a new realm. With Hemingway's other works he tackles the masculine subjects many associate with him, in The Garden of Eden Hemingway brings to an erotic novel the same passion he brings to his other works. What he does for fishing, African safaris, and bull-fighting in his other works he does for fine foods, wines and living. This work is truly a textual masterpiece that needs not to be devoured, but instead like a fine meal or an aged wine needs to be savoured and deeply appreciated

The text has beautiful pictures. It covers the psychology of a pair, experiencing a third partner. The dialogs make fun. Far ahead of normal Platon/Freud stuff. You're not the third person reader, you get inside the characters not thru their thoughts, but by their behavior and their words.
The book gives the 3 another meaning, it's just a temporary state, which converts to a chaotic 2 again and again, for example when David the main-acteur writes about his father and his wife Catherine destroys the text and he is forced to rewrite it...
In my opinion the quantum world is similiar, you have a set of three particles, which interchange to form a dual interaction
Or the dual force in the three dimensions...
But on the surface people meet the first time and then want to gather 4 a new relation 2 be free until the mind demands a count-on !
