I have read a few of this growing trend of MC books. A lot of them are take you into the darkest dark and then show you the light, even if that light is grey. This story, while not dragging you into that darkness directly still manages to shadow it. It is a really good story and I do recommend it to anyone looking for an MC book while avoiding the hardcore abuse that most incorporate. It does touch on drug use, hints at abusive pasts, and incorporates some violence to women, but I've read Seize Me, so anything else is mild at this point.
So, why you ask does it only get 3 stars? There are a couple issues that need to be addressed. Some of the writing is disjointed and difficult to comfortably follow, there are areas where you randomly switch POVs that is jarring and throws you out, and then there is some formatting issues. In one place an entire page is repeated. There are also some brush overs that don't fit the feel of the story. One minute your in someone's head then there is brush over a situation that it outside either perspective, then your in again.
Now your sitting there going, so do I try it or not? I personally liked it enough to be interested in another book and have no plans to return this one, but since we are not pals I can't say this book is or is not right for you. The sample goes seven chapters in. I recommend at least trying it.
