Kurzbeschreibung

Can there be hope for love beyond the grave?

Elizabeth is stunned. Daniel, the handsome detective she´s met while researching a mysterious series of murders in London, was killed right in front of her. But she soon learns that Daniel´s ghost is stranded in this world and that she´s the only person who can see and hear him. They team up to find his murderers and come to realise that things aren't what they first seemed to be.

There's only one question that bothers Elizabeth even more: Has fate really given Daniel and her a second chance? Or is this just a brief respite from the inevitable?

*Book 1 of the GHOSTBOUND-Series*

***** Excerpt *****

She wondered whether Daniel had believed in life after death. What was it like for him now? His old life, his family, his friends – in one fell swoop, everything was out of reach. And all he could do was stand by and watch. While the only person he could communicate with was a woman he had only just met, nobody he really knew, nobody from his life. A wave of sadness washed over Elizabeth as she realised how lost Daniel must be feeling. He was stranded in this world like Robinson Crusoe on his island. And she was his only contact. If only she had met him earlier, and had had a chance to become a part of his life …
"Pretty spot you’ve picked here." Daniel's voice came from her right side, and seemed very close. She couldn’t see him, though, since the sun was still shining, even though it was starting to set.
"Hey, Danny." Elizabeth smiled in relief. It had been a good idea to have some time to herself. Her anger had completely gone, and she was just happy that he was back. "Where have you been?" There was no answer. "Danny?"
"I tried to find out why the funeral is going to be held on Monday,” he answered softly.
"Oh." Uncomfortably, Elizabeth lowered her eyes and frowned. "Is that so unusual?"
"Yes,” Daniel sighed. "Very much so. As a rule, murder victims are kept in the forensic lab for about two weeks, sometimes longer, if required by the investigation."
"And did you find out why they are in such a hurry?"
"No … And, interesting choice of words."
"What do you mean?"
"I couldn’t help but think that someone must be in a big hurry to have me six feet under," he answered with another sigh.
Suddenly Elizabeth could not only hear Daniel, but see him as well. It was breath-taking. The sun was disappearing in a spectacular sunset behind the Houses of Parliament and the last rays made Daniel glow in shades of orange and gold, as if the light was coming from inside him. For the first time, he really looked like a supernatural being. Unreal. Almost magical. "Unbelievable …,” she whispered in awe. The urge to reach out and touch him was almost painful, so she clasped her hands in her lap.
Daniel looked down at himself. "Wow,” was all he said as he moved his hand in front of his eyes and watched the play of colours. All too soon the sun went down, and Elizabeth felt utterly disappointed that Daniel looked like a normal human being again.
"Well, that was something,” he murmured, still completely stunned.
"You can say that again,” she agreed with him, no less amazed. Then she smiled at him and said: "It's nice to see you again, Danny."
"It's nice to be seen as well."
"Though I would bet that you wished it was someone else who could see and hear you. Someone you know better than you know me,” Elizabeth said quietly, returning to her previous train of thought.
Daniel cocked his head and looked into her eyes, before he said almost in a whisper: "That's a bet you would lose, Liz." He hesitated for a second, then asked: "Do you wish I would rattle my chains somewhere else, as you put it so nicely yesterday?"
"No, of course not,” Elizabeth blurted out and, much to her astonishment, she realised how awful even the thought of Daniel disappearing from her life again felt to her.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Brilliant and suspenseful lovestory 21. Juni 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf
Reading the cover I took the chance of this being one of those sappy lovestories but no:
Yes, love permeates this book but the story is gripping as well.
Be prepared for an indignant "NO WAY" at the end -- for this is the first book of a trilogy which has not been completely translated yet. I am thus impatiently waiting for the sequel.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Ghostbound - Love is Stronger than Death 19. Juni 2013
Format:Taschenbuch
Doch so schnell will Elizabeth nicht aufgeben.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Just AWESOME 14. Juni 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf
This story is about Liz and Danny. Elizabeth is a journalist at the trash paper "Star". She meets the Detective Danny first, when she is looking for a good story about a teenager series of crime. It seem's that Danny doesn't really like her, because he doesn't like journalists at all. But then they meet each other at a club and have fun togehter. Booth feel that this would be more than just a friendship. They felt in love at this evening, but only for a short time, because at the same evening Danny became murdered by three teenagers. Liz is totally inconsolable about this, she really felt in love with the smart detective. Two days later Danny is back, but not in a human way. He is a ghost and Elizabeth is the only one who is able to see him. Together they start to find Danny's murder ...

Wow, wow, wow - AWESOME. What else can I say? I liked the book so much. Every charactere in this book is so strong and symapthic. I love them all. I would say the book is a mix up between lovestory, fantasy and thriller. It is the first book of a trilogy and I have already read the two other books and they are as good as this one. Five stars from my side :)

5.0 von 5 Sternen When two fates become one 11. Juni 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Elizabeth Parker is an ambitious journalist working for the London Star which isn’t exactly the most reputable paper in town but at least a stepping stone to her career. Especially since her boss wants Elizabeth to write about the devastating teenage killings that have happened recently. But, instead of doing her researches as usual things take a more than surprising and incredible twist.
Elizabeth is thunderstruck. She is a person who has never ever neither believed in life after death nor in the existence of ghosts until she meets Daniel Mason who is not only a dedicated and handsome detective but also the person she has fallen for head over heels. Unfortunately Daniel is killed before they come to know each other better – a catastrophe Elizabeth is struggling with. Until Daniel reappears as a ghost only the young woman can see, hear and actually feel. A very special but complicated relationship and murder investigation take their course …

"Ghostbound – Love is Stronger than Death" written by C.M. Singer is a book with a tremendous storyline combining an extraordinary romantic bond, elements of a detective novel and paranormal phenomena.

C. M. Singer has created an intense story full of wit and love, tragic and dark secrets. The reader can truly feel this certain buzz of magic between the lines.

The components that make this book utterly unputdownable are unique characters that are both loveable and/or wrapped in mystery, a plot riddled with lots of charming details, and the author’s magnificently figurative and catchy style of writing.

There is such a lively atmosphere perfectly noticeable while reading the book. That’s what I absolutely loved because C. M. Singer is a master of breathing life into her characters.

Von Steff

This book follows the love story of Elizabeth and Danny. They meet in the most inconvenient way that puts both of them in an immediate bad light. You see, Elizabeth is a journalist of the Sun and was ordered to write an article about the teenage murders. There are eight of them and Daniel Mason and his partner are the detectives on the case, so of course they aren't all that happy to find a journalist lurking around the house of one of the victims. (Not that Elizabeth herself was all that happy to find herself in that situation, mind you.) Luckily they manage to look past that and they hit it off quite well later on. Elizabeth hunts Daniel down to his band's performance in a club and they start talking and talking and talking. Elizabeth can't really believe that the rude detective that made such a fool of her earlier, was actually a kind and funny man. (Not to mention incredibly HOT!) Elizabeth thanks her lucky stars that she followed him to the club as they talk the night away. Unfortunately good things aren't meant to last for our Elizabeth, because as soon as they leave the club they're ambushed by a group of three. They leave Elizabeth bruised and scared s***less, but alive. Whereas they stab Danny brutally and leave him for death. Are these the same murderers that he had been investigating? Did he come too close to something? Why is it that she can see his ghost when nobody else can? And why do her feelings only grow stronger for the handsome detective? Surely a ghost and a human could never work? Could they? Elizabeth really doesn't care, she's just happy to have him back in any way she can. It only determines her resolve to find Daniel Mason's killers...

Alright, I liked this book. It's not one of my all time favourites, but it was okay as far as books went!
