Kurzbeschreibung

It’s eight on years of from their Pacific adventure and Harry and Laura find themselves settling into life together in the Cornish town of Helston. Both have found promotion and are busy with their demanding jobs, but Harry has continued to wonder about the ancient ring that appears to have been the catalyst for his time travel. His interest is renewed following the publication of a book chronicling their first escapade, but every avenue of research leads to a dead-end.

In preparation for a high powered Joint Service post, Harry is given the chance to fly the Tornado F3 with the Royal Air Force and is plunged back under the influence of the ring in dramatic fashion. Cast into the epicentre of a terrorist plot to rape Antarctica for its oil and minerals, he must fight enemies new and old and do battle with both good and evil. The world’s financial and economical futures rest heavily on his shoulders as he tries to determine who his enemies are and who he can trust? As the plot twists and turns, help will come from unexpected quarters and treachery from others.

Whilst he struggles alone on the frozen continent, Laura joins forces with Mike, his doctor, as well as new friends and allies recruited along the way. Their mission? To locate and assist Harry in his hour of need. But things are never that simple. The power of the 17th century ring will dictate their participation, but will it lead to Harry’s salvation, or to his downfall?

The climax will be spread across the globe and will leave some questions unanswered, but success is the only option Harry ever considers. Can the ties with his dream world be severed in time to save him and his friends, or will some of them need to be sacrificed along the way in order to maintain the world’s stability? Only time will tell.

Frozen in Time is Ian Weaver’s second novel in the Harry Harrison Trilogy and will leave you breathless and on the edge of your seats as the plots and sub-plots unfold. What ever way the ending goes, who ever is left standing at the conclusion, one thing is for sure; it will leave you aching for more.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Excellent Story with Surprising Twists 27. April 2012
Von Thomas D. Spears - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Taschenbuch
This is Weaver's second novel, and the second in what is envisioned to be a series of three novels. At the end of the first novel "Time and Again," the reader is left wondering how all this strange time travel is taking place, and what is behind it. That question is at least partially answered in "Frozen in Time." Much of the story takes place in Antarctica, and involves a terrorist scheme to cause environment havoc. But there are plots withing plots going on, and the reader is well advised to pay close attention to the motives and behaviors of each of the bad guys to follow the tale. I particularly enjoyed the secondary plot, which involves the characters back home in their "normal" lives. Overall, an interesting and well crafted story.
