This is the worst guide I've ever used. I don't understand why the others gave it good review. All the Highway map numbers are wrong. We had to use the one from Alamo car rental. Directions are horrific. Instead of giving detailed direction it just gives you a general one. i.e. When we were going to Ft San Cristobal, it directs you to Old Town. That's it. It expect you to find it yourself when you get to Old Town. The description of locations also jumps all over the place. It points you to 3 different locations of the guide instead of listing everything.

This book has some good info, but very little for areas outside of the San Juan hub. The guide is geared towards someone staying in San Juan and day tripping to other areas of the island.
This is great if this is what you intend to do, but if you are looking for a more laid back vacation and be in some of the more quiet areas- this book won't give you the kind of in depth information you are probably craving.

We spent a week in the Cabo rojo area (South Western side of the island) in August 2010. It was an amazing, authentic place populated with some of the nicest people I have ever met! Sadly, there was next to nothing of this area in the book.

I am undecided if it as a worth while purchase. I was disappointed that the areas we want to visit for our next trip are barely mentioned either. If you are planning to stay in San Juan and day trip around the island, this would be a perfect book for you. It does come with a handy nice quality map of the island. the most detail being in San Juan, of course.

Ths is a very convenient guide book. It can easily fit into a camera case or even your back pocket. The information is overall very good and helpful. I didn't realize it was demi size when I bought it but was glad that it was. It was of great help on my trip.
