Perhaps it is time that someone wrote something about this wonderful CD from Tujiko Noriko. First and foremost, one would definately like to know under which genre this album falls into. And the most appropiate answer would be "Electronic". Well but the strange thing is that it is not that easily recognisable as I've played the CD to some friends and met with questions such as "Is this cultural music?". But it is actually purely music with warm electronic beats, synthesizers, strange familiar effects and heavy overlaying of the sweeet japanese vocals of Noriko. She is not a conventional artiste, I must say, so those of you who are looking for a J-Pop or Rock CD shouldn't read further. But what impresses me most is her ability to make electronic music so warm and life-like, thanks to her very soothing melody and lyrics (if you understand japanese, but the cd very thoughtfully provided the lyrics in english in the booklet). The whole atmosphere of the CD is a tad mellow and melancholic but sometimes playful and nostalgic. A friend of mine gave a quite a noteworthy but matching description of her music "she's like a mixture between squarepusher and portishead" but of course, one must consider the fact that she is japanese in blood.
So I definately strongly recommend this CD and also her other album "make me hard" (which unfortunately is no longer available here in amazon) for those of you who are looking for something really special.
