With the amazing voice of David Tennant leading off, this fantastic recording includes 75 of Shakespeare's greatest sonnets read by 16 wonderful actors. More than just a simple reading, however, these men and women have lent a dramatic flair to the poems which makes them lyric and utterly beautiful.
The more famous sonnets - "Let me not the marriage of true minds" (116), "Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?" (18), "My Mistress' Eyes are nothing like the sun" (130) - follow between some of equal power but less notoriety.
Though the Shakespeare nerd is the obvious target for this cd, anyone at all interested in literature, love, or lessons in life can benefit from and enjoy this recording.
I highly recommend it!
