This brilliant guide to getting your blog branded will give you the skill set you need to do just that. I found this book to be incredibly useful and I’m sure anyone who is already a blogger will find this immeasurably useful too. Cailin Koy clearly explains what you need to do to become successful at blogging. I loved the fact that I didn’t feel like an idiot whilst reading this, Cailin doesn’t overload you with jargon; so this is pretty much an idiot’s guide. I have taken a lot from this book and so I highly recommend this to anyone who needs the tools to take their blogging a step to closer to success. I just wish I had this information earlier. So if you’re looking at this book, then I’m guessing you need help along the lines of blogging, well look no further; the information you need is right here.

Go From Blog to Brand in 30 Days wasn't just a good was an excellent way to improve my new blog site as I was setting it up. The introduction and main points covered were insightful, as my knowledge for blogging grows. My thanks to the author for such a valuable resource and such a good read. This should be required reading for anyone who is interested in starting a blog with little to no experience with blogs, and should interest even the most experience of bloggers who want to check if they are getting it right.

Go From Blog to Brand in 30 Days by Cailin Koy is a book that is filled with information and solid suggestions that could be an invaluable aid both in getting a blog off the ground as well as maintaining its performance and cash flow over the long-term. Go From Blog to Brand in 30 Days is a methodical, step-by-step 30 day course to blogging success.

Koy's book has value that extends beyond blogging. She combines good old-fashioned wisdom with principles for thriving in the high tech world of blogging and social networking. She reminds bloggers to write and edit their work continually, to be patient, turn losses and mistakes into motivation for doing better, not to burn your bridges and, I love this, that "love and optimism breed success." But she also writes about the new world of social networking where, for example, collaboration is superseding the conventional dog-eat-dog world of cutthroat competition. And she goes into detail covering the varieties of web traffic "conversion" or the turning of website traffic into income, including opportunities to blog on other sites or merchandizing and promoting products or services.

The author employs worksheets for the reader to help think though basic concepts and to reinforce good social networking and blogging habits. As the title suggests, the program is designed as a 30 day, independent training course that moves the blogger "from blog to brand." The development of a "brand identity" is the concept that a brand owner wants the public to embrace, whereas "brand image" is how the public actually perceives the brand. Koy says that the ultimate goal is for brand identity to equal brand image. And, for me, that equation summarizes the overriding theme of this very interesting and resourceful book. A blogger has an idea for a blog, and then works through a whole array of decisions to fine tune the concept, then comes up with a viable and effective blog name, fine tunes the writing, and begins the marketing process from everyday conversation and elevator talk to social marketing to logo and web design to analytics and more. In the end, the blog identity that is created by a blogger must approximate and ideally meet the blogger image that is held by the public.

Going from blog to brand is a fascinating journey. This book can be invaluable to bloggers, but is also a worthwhile read for almost anyone who has an idea and welcomes practical guidance for turning it into reality. The use of good practical advice that is conveyed in concert with an understanding of how to use state of the art marketing technologies makes for a very positive and enjoyable reading experience, and the book has caused me to reflect on some of my own blog and non-blog activities in light of its recommendations. I strongly recommend Cailin Koy's informative, useful and very readable book.
