It's been four months since Alex gave everything to save Jessica. Life should be perfect; she has Alex, she's been freed of the nightmares, and most of all- she's alive. But some things have changed, some things haven't. That's the problem. Alex still hasn't asked "the question". Jessica can't see the reason why and it's tearing her apart. He's keeping something from her.

Alex isn't the only one who has changed though. Something is different about Jessica but she doesn't understand what's happened. She just knows something's wrong, that she feels different than she used to, on a skin deep level. And it may keep her and Alex apart. Forever.

But while Alex and Jessica struggle to stay together, Cole is not about to be forgotten. There are a few things he didn't tell Jessica, about his past and her future. There are reasons why he came after her, reasons that are tied to his history that is darker than she could have ever realized.

The entire Fall of Angels series is now available.

Better even than the first one. This book is amazing and beautiful and truly great. Be still, my heart! Which, of course, it wasn't until I read book three!

5.0 von 5 Sternen Great 2nd book 15. April 2011
Von Fictionlover - Veröffentlicht auf
OK, I have to say I was a little afraid to read this book. After reading 'Branded' and seeing the way Jessica and Alex's love blossomed and then to hear that they were having issues in this books, well it made me not want to read it. I am a true fan of a great love story and I didn't want to be depressed. Having said that, I wasn't depressed at all. I though the book was GREAT and I am very excited for the 3rd. I am not going to tell you any of the story, but lets just say it went exactly were I wanted it to go and it left me yearning for more. I am excited to read more of Keary Taylors books and look forward to the 3rd book in the Fall of Angels series.

2.0 von 5 Sternen disappointed. 17. Juli 2011

I agree with the other reviewer, Drusso. I read Branded and had some time so decided to read the second book, Forsaken. I felt this was a disappointment given that it was an interesting premise. I like the fact that religion is not discussed overtly, but I think the writer misses an opportunity to examine how good and evil are not always apparent. Why are there angels? And if the "good" angels are cruel as the "bad" angels what does that mean?

Moreover, I really felt annoyed by the writer for missing an opportunity to explain her characters motivations better. For instance, she does not explain why her two main two characters are living together but are chaste. Why? Is it for religious reasons that they will do not sleep together or maybe as one of her main character is an angel, maybe he cannot? Who knows? Or why was marriage so important to the main character given all that she experienced and now had a man clearly committed to her forever. Was the main character a virgin and did that signify something? There are many open questions. For instance, the main character's sister gets out of a abusive relationship and rapidly gets into another one and everyone is fine with that. Frankly, that was just weird. I do not need to be spoon fed but I do need to understand characters decision making a little bit more.

5.0 von 5 Sternen BookWhisperer Review: Forsaken by Keary Taylor 3. April 2011
Von BookWhisperer - Veröffentlicht auf
Keary Taylor offers a story that will emotionally touch her readers. Forsaken is the second in the Fall of the Angels Series. After loving the first story I was certain that I would enjoy this one as well. Taylor surprised me by crumbing my expectations, and creating a story that was even better. The emotion pushed out in this novel I find to be occasionally overwhelming, but never a downfall of the story. I find myself so enraptured by her story that I feel like a character within the book. Jessica is a tremendously intense character, and with her past is also a character that will demand sympathy. While she is not a helpless bystander every reader will find themselves drawn in by this realistic personality. I love reading feeling the stories through her character. It makes for effortless reading and simplicity of the raw emotion in these books. Alex is also another loveable character that readers will have no problem reading alternating narrated chapter. Taylor makes a simple transition from one character to another that does not leave readers frustrated when alternating between multiple characters. With two incredible figures it should be easy to conceive this as a story with such intensity and suspense that readers will continuously crave more. Forsake seems to shake things up a bit from the first novel. The changes that appear in this story expand and transform the original story into a detailed and intricate story. While broadening our horizons readers will also find new blossoms of detail that will promise expansion in the future. Upon conclusion of this storyline Taylor as wrapped up some simple aspects while leaving a variety of new and old situations open for future novels. I look forward to seeing what is to come of Alex and Jessica, as well as, some old and new characters that stepped to the forefront in this incredible addition to the Fall of Angels series.

4.0 von 5 Sternen A GREAT sequel! 2. September 2011
Von Laura - Veröffentlicht auf
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf
I was hesitant to buy Branded, seeing as it was yet ANOTHER book in the paranormal/angel romance category..but was amazed at how good it was! The sequel, Forsaken is JUST AS GOOD. I am an extreamly picky reader. I hold all authors to the same high standards, no matter what the subject material or the cost of the book. If you endeavor to be an author you best put out the most amazing thing you can! Keary has a wonderful rythm to her writing, it is simple yet elegant. She knows her grammar, I found less grammatical issues in this than TWILIGHT! She writes descriptively, yet doesn't stray into the verbose teritory as so many paranoral authors do.
The relationship she builds on between Alex & Jessica is beautiful. It feels realistic, grounded and deep. The secondary characters in this book are developed so well, and she even manages to take several characters and totally change how you think of them! All the characters develop in real and believable ways, and the plot was interesting, exciting and totally believable! I can't wait to see what unfolds in the final book!

2.0 von 5 Sternen Horrible sequel 1. Oktober 2012
Von Eliza V - Veröffentlicht auf
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf
This was painful to finish. A heroine who whines and moans just because her guy won't propose? Seriously? Nothing about this book is remotely realistic - not the characters or the story. So it's about angels. I get that realism doesn't matter, but at least make these characters believable. Not mopey and blah.
