In Formula D A Formula 1 pilot has to be willing to take risks and be able to plan ahead - at least if you want to get to the very top of the winners' podium. Formula D also means the suspense of illegal racing on the streets of the big cities. Anything goes: customized cars, nitro fuel injection, skidding in roundabouts, unfair tricks ... The game principles always stay the same, but different cars, rules and circuits come into play.
This new edition of Formula D contains painted cars, dashboards, driver profiles, circuits ... A realisitc dashboard allows you to always keep your eyes on your car and the gear stick and really gives you the feeling of being a racing driver! And simple playing instructions are enclosed, allowing you to start play immediately. Off you go!
Contents: 2 game boards with updated Formula 1 circuit of Monaco and a road race circuit, 20 painted cars, 70 plastic parts (marker and gear sticks), 2 set of playing instructions, 7 special dice, 10 dashboards for the players.

This is a perfect game: easy to learn for both the "basic" and "advanced" modes, fast to set up, really fun and very enjoyable for all family members.
It is also very flexible in terms of game length, you can play a single lap in some 20 minutes, or can plan for a full racing season that may take a full day if you desire. Also it is very flexible in terms of number of players, as it can be 2-10. I have even played it solo (practice mode?) and even then is quite fun. You can also play with "stock cars" or can even make your custom ones.
Worthily is to mention the top notch quality of all its components. I just wish the cars were bigger, but as it is the board is already big enough!

Great game for all ages if you like racing cars

Very few boardgames are ready for 10 players with a very wide age range, this is for everybody.
I think that the only condition is that, at least a little, you like racing.
With a very simple mechanic you will have everything, real racing tracks, gears, overtaking, fast desitions, many mistakes, good strategy, etc. This is an impresive idea for such a simple concept. I have the previous version, and some extra tracks.
I will buy this new edition because I like the gear system a little bit more (the previous have some minor issues because the gear can be lost if somebody hit the table). I want to try the street rules and tracks and would be great to have another set of dices to avoid passing the dices around a table of 10 people :-).
Conclusion, if you like racing cars and boardgames, it is a must. If you like to play boardgames in family this is a great and simple game. Easy set-up, one hour playing (or more, depending on the laps you want to race), easy rules (in 10 minutes you can teach it to a new player).

Have played twice and already want more tracks! MY two boys love it. The 5 year old needs coaching but the 8 year old is fine with the basic rules. The rules are perfect at capturing a race. Slow down through the corners but don't be afraid to run a little hard and tear the engine/tires up, especially if your behind. Great fun. Quality components. Highly recommended. I see gifts for the gamers in my family.
