I am an avid "colorist" and snapped this book up as soon as I found it. The sample pages showed beautiful pictures promising hours of relaxing creativity. When it arrived, I poured over the pages, trying to decide which to start on.
After I chose colors and began, I realized there was a problematic "error" in the design I was working on. The artist did not finish the lines in many places, making already challenging patterns virtually impossible to color correctly. This may not matter to many people, but it made that picture impossible for me to complete. In addition, leaves sometimes look like leaves, other time like a flower or a bud or an error in drawing.
I carefully looked over the other drawings and quickly discovered virtually all are this way. In several, the pattern is a very impressive basket-weave, but lines don't match up, others are vine entwined with flowers, but the flowers look like one species in one part, yet a completely different species in another.
As I said, it may just be me ..... I am fairly persnickity, but it was enough that this book is now at the bottom of my basket of choices.
I'm NOT saying "don't buy this".... I'm saying "if little details drive you up the wall, think twice."
