As a current owner of First Aid 2010 (which was used as an accessory, alongside my basic sciences), I purchased the 2011 edition in order to stay up to date. However, this edition is virtualy one and the same as the 2010 edition, with the exception of the following:
- The text is in darker print, hence sharper on the eyes and more legible.
- A few of the dedicated NOTES pages have been collectively moved from the end of certain chapters to the very end of the book. As a result, some sections have fewer pages, or begin at different page numbers, as indicated by the index.
Other than that, it's still a great source for Step 1. Although this edition is cheaper than the 2010 (at the time of this writing at least), I suppose it's somewhat a releif that this edition remains unchanged. For the current 2010 edition owners, there's no update necessary, and nothing new to revise! I hope this offers some advice to anyone unsure as to whether they should update to this new edition. Content is Great - but don't DL the Kindle Version!

I really wanted an electronic copy, so I purchased the kindle version to read on my computer. Unfortunately, the formatting is altered such that some of the sections are unreadable or nonsensical (tables appear as lists so there's no way of knowing what items are meant to aligned). Additionally, figures are so small that labels are hard to read (increasing font size/zoom makes no difference). If you buy this - stick to the print version!

First of all, First Aid is the gold standard for Step 1 review. Memorize all of First Aid and I'll bet you'll get a 250 or above on your Step 1. Second, this edition took care of those 6 pages of errata from the 2010 version. So unless you feel like going through those 6 pages of errata on the First Aid website and making a ton of changes, I suggest buying the 2011 version. I know there will be a list of errata for this version, as Doctors in Training has already put together a preliminary list, but it is a much smaller list than the one from 2010.
