Kurzbeschreibung

How much trouble can one small female be to a modern-day shapeshifting Viking? Well…it really depends on local gun laws.

Conall Víga-Feilan, direct descendent of Viking shifters, never thought he’d meet a female strong enough to be his mate. He especially didn’t think a short, viper-tongued human would ever fit the bill. But Miki Kendrick isn’t some average human. With an IQ off the charts and a special skill with weapons of all kinds, Miki brings the big blond pooch to his knees—and keeps him there.

Miki’s way too smart to ever believe in love and she knows a guy like Conall could only want one thing from her. But with the Pack’s enemies on her tail and a few days stuck alone with the one man who makes her absolutely wild, Miki is about to discover how persistent one Viking wolf can be.

This book has been previously published and has been revised from its original release.

4.0 von 5 Sternen Magnus Pack 2 11. April 2009
Format:Taschenbuch
Shelly Laurenston has written several books about shapeshifters under this name and as G. A. Aiken. Some of them concentrate on three girlfriends, Sara, Miki and Angie, and the shapeshifters they fall in love with. Since two of these men are from the wolf-shifters of the Magnus Pack, the author calls this series 'Magnus Pack'. The first book is 'Pack Challenge', this book contains the 2nd of these stories, the third is the novel 'Here kitty, kitty!', and there's another novella about one of the characters from 'Go fetch' in the anthology 'When he was bad'.

Sara (the leading character in 'Pack Challenge') has joined the Magnus Pack, which means that her two best (and human) friends, Miki and Angie, suddenly find themselves in close contact with the shapeshifters. The powerful wolf-shifter Conall and the intelligent, but aggressive and foul-mouthed Miki feel strongly attracted to each other from the start, but it takes a threat to Miki's life from the hyena-shifters to bring the two together...

This novel is a paranormal romance with a strong erotic component, just like the rest of the series. All three girls are aggressive and foul-mouthed to the point of being rude. A large part of the humor of the books comes from that character trait. And that willingness to fight verbally and physically is also part of what makes these women attractive to shifters who appreciate strength in women - naturally, because that's what wolves and other predators do. So you shouldn't expect sweet romance, the books are also not really plot-driven (like Kim Harrison etc.), but they are simply about two people getting together, a lot of fighting and a biting sense of humour throughout it all. It reminded me of MaryJanice Davidson's early books (e. g. the Wyndham werewolf-novellas), basically paranormal erotic chic-lit with a sense of humour. As such, I found 'Go fetch!' entertaining and fun. It's certainly not high literature, but enjoyable.

5.0 von 5 Sternen A Viking Wolf to die for 23. August 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf
Shell sure has a knack for the wild ones. What I love in her books is those slightly deranged but powerfull women who really kick ass. Miki is close to her mad queen of the Dragon Kim series, who will be my all time favourite heroine. So, I really enjoyed this book. Our Viking wolf shifter is the perfect match for her and he is as sexy as he is adorable. In a wolf kind of way. Remember, they are as deadly as they are beautyful...

Habe die Hälfte der zeit lauthals gelacht. Die Charaktere haben definitiv einen Schaden. Sie sind allerdings so gut beschrieben, dass man sich fühlt, als wäre man mittendrin.

4.0 von 5 Sternen Fetching romp with werewolves and great sexual tension 8. Juni 2009
Von amf0001 - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Taschenbuch
I don't know how Shelly Laurenston does it. I could summarize her stories in half a paragraph, there seems so little plot, and yet, the pages rapidly flit by.

I like her women; they are so crazy that even the craziest of the wolves back away slowly - that Miki is a human seems scarcely to matter; she's more wolf than the best of them. And she sees Conall for what he is, a Viking pretending to be a teddy bear. They have such great sexual tension and she's so mean to him.

Go Fetch is funny, and energetic, and you can see what each of them brings to the party, and the odd relationship just works. I'm always happy to spend time with the Magnus wolves but this was an especial favorite. An erotically charged romp. Highly recommended

5.0 von 5 Sternen Miki Kendrick + Conall Viga-Feilan = Fun, Sexy Laughter 4. Oktober 2010
Von The Fountain Pen Diva - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Taschenbuch|Verifizierter Kauf
Conall Viga-Feilan is a hunky viking shapeshifter and is absolutely smitten with Miki Kendrick, a brainy and geeky nerd femme fatale who is completely unimpressed with Conall's looks or his ability to shift into a big wolf. He tries everything to win her affections and she completely blows him off. His packmates think he's nuts for wanting a woman who obviously has no respect for him or them. Of course, the attraction between the two is undeniable, but Miki's not about to drop her underpants just because Conall thinks it's love. And poor Conall is indeed head over heels with a woman who's not only a genius, but is also skilled in the use of weapons and doesn't have an issue with hacking into someone's bank account and giving them a few nightmares or taking him to an all-night RPG (role playing game) session. Meanwhile, a pack of vicious hyena-shifters are out in force to decimate the members of the Magnus Pack and their mates, and Miki's stressing over her graduate thesis.

One of the many things I've enjoyed about Laurenston's heroines is they aren't all aflutter as soon as the hero walks into the scene. They don't stop being real and having an edge. Laurenston's heroines tend to be brash, foul-mouthed, just a few cards short of crazy and pricklier than a seguero cactus and that's why they make the perfect mates for the otherworldly shapeshifters. (I often wonder if authors realize that a wimpy heroine is just not going to make it when their new realities are comprised of being surrounded by things with claws, fangs and/or wings that just might want to kill them in horrible ways). Miki knows that Conall's far more powerful than she is, but she's just not fazed by it, to the point where she's often telling Conall to "go fetch" and where she 'mistakes' a golden retriever for Conall (something that drives him crazy since he disdains dogs like any good wolf would do). She's the type to go down swinging anyway. Miki is her own woman and she's incredibly flawed and granted, there were times in the book where I told her (loudly and on public transportation), to stop being so mean and open up a little. However it's those very flaws that make her so very memorable. In fact, while I certainly wouldn't kick a nice piece of man-flesh like Conall out of my bed for eating crackers, it's Miki who feels like reading about a best friend.

Conall's no wimp--he's got the alpha thing in spades, but in order to win Miki he's willing to soften up a bit and his struggles with being "a teddy bear" rather than the "me Tarzan" are fun to read. He's out of his depth and he knows it and yet he loves and is willing to protect Miki, even from herself.

The big clencher for me is that it's an interracial romance, and the paranormal genre has few of those, so when they do come along I snatch them up. What makes this aspect great is that Laurenston is one of the few authors in contemporary romance who populates her universe with people from different ethnicities. She seems to understand that when setting a novel in cities with diverse populations, it only makes sense for the characters (both primary and secondary) to reflect that diversity. The heroine and hero are trying not to get killed or kill each other. They're just two stubborn people in love.

I'm sure that even after Magnus Pack, I'll be seeing more of Miki and Conall and I'm sure that married life for these two must be a total kick!

5.0 von 5 Sternen Romance with fun 8. März 2009
Von Barbbe - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com

This is a great book. She has great story that makes you laugh thru the whole book. She makes you see each person in the book and they do feel like a person. The story is fun, the sex is hot, the book is fast to read. I was laughing at loud in lots of the story. You can't wait to see what happen to Miki and if she really finds true love with her wolf..

Another one for the keeper shelves. Shelly Laurenston consistently does HOT, funny stories about shifters. She delivers great characters, witty dialogue and fast paced plots on a consistent basis. Go Fetch is part of the Magnus series about a pack of motorcycle riding wolves.

3.0 von 5 Sternen okay 3. Oktober 2009
Von Neker - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Taschenbuch
I liked her other novels, but I think there was more plot to them. I finished this one unsatified. Miki is an over-the-top heroine, which I don't have a problem with, but I didn't think it was believable to have so many other shapeshifters afraid of her. I also didn't think she had a good reason to hold herself from the hero. He obviously wanted her and she obviously wanted him, so what was the big deal? It was like Laurenston was trying to grasp at a conflict that didn't exist in the story.

This one could have been better.
