Buy it and you wont regret it. I got the book while at a volunteer/community service conference. I thought it looked like a good read for my commuter trip. I never I thought I could feel so inspired and excited about Americans. I only wish I could be such an inspiration to others as many of the people Shawn took the time to speak with and interview!

Inspiring Stories - Helped Me Through A Tough Time

I picked up the Extra Mile while my mother was hospitalized prior to her death. This book really helped me get through that awful time. There are very inspiring stories of everyday people who have started taking steps in their communities to make things better. The Extra Mile expanded my thinking about how individuals really can effect change in a positive way. Shawn's own story of cycling trip across America had me thinking about handling challenges with a mind-set to target difficult goals and persevere through hard challenges. It was a great read for me and one I have shared with many friends.
