This book was wonderful. While many people would say that Slater's reaction to Liberty's sheriff position was "sexist," I totally disagree. He loved her enough to want to protect her. I have read this book many times, and have loved it better each time.

Lori Wick continues her excellent writting style in this book. While she is starting a new series with this book, she left room for details to later be explained. Her story rang of hope, peace and love. I find it only second to "Sophie's Heart" another great Lori Wick novel.

I'm a huge Lori Wick fan, and while this book was good reading, I was a bit disappointed. I didn't feel that Mrs. Wick gave enough of an explanation as to why Liberty shouldn't be a sheriff. While Slater's reaction may have been true to the day, the fact that Liberty was a sheriff at all did not seem to be, and therefore his reaction seemed sexist instead of gentlemanly Christian. Several things that occured in the novel seemed to be written in solely as plot devices and not completely thought through. I will most likely continue to read this series, and will probably at some point reread this book (as I like to do with all Mrs. Wick's other books), but it'll not be on my list of favorites.

Boring

PAINFUL & BORING ORDEAL TO GET THROUGH
