This book grows out of a meeting which brought together liturgists, theologians, church musicians and pastors from a variety of contexts and traditions to reflect together on the significance and practice of celebrating holy communion ecumenically and to produce new materials for use in such services. Besides essays on 'the Lima Liturgy and beyond' by Gordon Lathrop and the late Max Thurian, and creative, liturgically sensitive suggestions for holding eucharistic worship in ecumenical contexts, the book contains a selection of ancient and contemporary materials for such worship (including eucharistic prayers by Per Harling), making it an invaluable resource for anyone concerned with worship and with the ecumenical movement.
