Kurzbeschreibung

15. April 2014
INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES AND WALL STREET JOURNAL BESTSELLER

Have you ever found yourself stretched too thin?

Do you simultaneously feel overworked and underutilized?

Are you often busy but not productive?

Do you feel like your time is constantly being hijacked by other people’s agendas?

If you answered yes to any of these, the way out is the Way of the Essentialist.

The Way of the Essentialist isn’t about getting more done in less time. It’s about getting only the right things done.  It is not  a time management strategy, or a productivity technique. It is a systematic discipline for discerning what is absolutely essential, then eliminating everything that is not, so we can make the highest possible contribution towards the things that really matter.

By forcing us to apply a more selective criteria for what is Essential, the disciplined pursuit of less empowers us to reclaim control of our own choices about where to spend our precious time and energy – instead of giving others the implicit permission to choose for us.

Essentialism is not one more thing – it’s a whole new way of doing everything. It’s about doing less, but better, in every area of our lives.

Essentialism  is a movement whose time has come.

"Do you feel it, too? That relentless pressure to sample all the good things in life? To do all the 'right' things? The reality is, you don’t make progress that way. 2.0 von 5 Sternen doesn't seem to contain a single original idea 14. Juli 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
the subject, the headline and the artwork on the cover are deceivingly good: this book fits our times. Unfortunately the book is an uninspired rewrite of other people's ideas. Even this would be fine if it had an original way of summarizing other ideas. Alas: the author simply divides the world into followers, branded "essentialists" and non followers. "Essentialists" then follow the rules of the book...
Nothing in this book is really wrong, hence the second star. But the book fails to do justice to the subject.

1.0 von 5 Sternen Just another inspirational book 28. Juni 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Just another inspirational book that seems to be a rewrite of other inspirational books. Books have to be written when you have something to say, not in order to promote your business or boost you ego.

Greg's book is nothing new - but it's fantastic.
It's simply reduced to condensed wisdom of what is essential to reach one's own highest point of contribution.
I loved it and have already gifted it to many others. A must-read.

1.0 von 5 Sternen 5 Stars, Really? 4. Juni 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf
I usually do not rate books, but this one is particularily boring and crammed with platitudes and general non-sense. The value can be extracted from the introduction chapters. Returned.

Reading this book was definitely NO waste of time. It supported me focusing on the things that really matters and declutter my daily life.
