With this book, Wink has entered the top three of all books I have ever read, in terms of overall influence to the way I live my life (with the other two consisting of Anthony DeMello's "Awareness" and Charles Tart's "Waking Up"). He has one absolutely amazing insight for those who pay attention. Unlike traditional teachings, which equate "demons" or "powers" with evil, Wink shows them to be fundamentally good, but 'fallen.' Thefore, these powers can and should be redeemed. This is a huge diversion from those who believe that all demons (which would equate to various items within the Jungian unconcious that manifest, etc) should be exterminated. Wink makes an outstanding presentation of how they cannot be exterminated, and how this is exactly the wrong approach. It is not a book which will give one a lot of comfort, though, so please do not read it as a feel good book. Realize Wink does heap burning coals upon your head, and cause you to have to examine a lot. The other option is to dismiss his position out of hand, which would be unfortunate.
