Photographer and illustrator Todd Selby is back with a new project ready to sate our insatiable hunger for books about food. Focusing his lens on the culinary world, Selby takes us on a whirlwind tour of the kitchens, gardens, homes, restaurants and workspaces of over forty of the most creative and dynamic food and drink purveyors working today. We'll travel into the woodlands outside San Francisco as the Selby forages for food with metalworker Angelo Garro; relax with passionate field to fork advocate Annie Novack on her rooftop Eagle Street Farm in Brooklyn; watch master Rene Redzepi at work in Norma, the Copenhagen restaurant named "Best in the World" in 2011; and have a slice with master pizza maker Susumu Kakinuma in Tokyo.

Über den Autor
Todd Selby is an interiors, fashion and portrait photographer and painter. His work has been featured in publications such as British Vogue, Nylon, New York Magazine and the London Sunday Times and his "Edible Selby" column is a regular feature in The New York Times Style Magazine. He is the author of The Selby Is in Your Place (Abrams 2010). Sally Singer is the editor of The New York Times Style Magazine and has previously served as the fashion news and features director at Vogue and the fashion director at New York magazine. Chad Robertson is co owner and baker at Tartine Bakery in San Francisco and a 2008 James Beard Award winner.

Anyone who watch Bravo, HGTV or The Food Channel, and who had the delight of reading Edible Selby, will understand why I think this will be the basic for a hit TV show. It's an entertaining and unique cookbook for foodies and style fans. From the very first page of beautifully shot photographs and stylish hand written messages, you see a great deal of love went into this production that travelled around the world. Even it's pullout stickers and colorful table of contents will identify this cookbook is like no other. It's a travel and pop culture feast too.

I cant begin to tell you how excited I was to finally receive my copy of Todd Selby's latest episode Edible Selby. The book is wonderfully illustrated and rich in content. Todd seems to have a way of capturing the truth in people, and this book is no exception. From all of the amazing people in their spectacular environments, to the mouth watering food that habituates their kitchens and dinner tables, this book is a fantasy that promises to keep on giving. I cant wait to try out the recipes, and the fridge magnets (illustrated by Todd himself) are such a great touch. I highly recommend this piece of stunning literature, and the only question left to say is where are you going next Todd? We are all eagerly awaiting your next endeavor...

Loved this book for its delightful idiosyncrasies! Photographs of food makers of all stripes aside hand-written interviews by Selby made me rush to my kitchen to whip up the salted caramel apple pie from the Four & Twenty Blackbirds sketched recipe. The author captures with grace, the stories of food makers in hidden places, bustling cities, and backyard beaches. The underlying focus of the book is more about foodways and culture than recipes, leading the reader to open h/her mind to the myriad ways creatively prepared food is important to our planet and its diverse peoples. This storybook is a visual trip and from opening the cover to reading to the end took me through one entire night!
