California native Fox had not even heard of Batters when he first started photographing women with an emphasis on their feet. In fact, he thought he was the only young man who checked out a woman's feet before her face, and most of the time couldn't meet his models' eyes for fear they'd discern his secret. Then he became the official foot photographer for "Leg Show" magazine, just months before Batters' death, and learned of the big shoes he had to fill at the same time he realized there were thousands of men just like himself - except without the talent to capture their passion on film, or as today, in pixels. Since then, Ed Fox has become internationally known for a sensual photographic style that captures every curve of a woman's body, right down to the tips of her toes. In "Ed Fox II" he brings us voluptuous new models, arresting locations - many blending the desert landscapes of Southern California with Fox's passion for automobiles - and fantasies mild to extra spicy, all shot in warm, caressing natural light. And, like "Glamour From the Ground Up", "Ed Fox II" comes with a 60-minute original DVD, bringing the still photos to vibrant life.

Dian Hanson was born in Seattle in 1951. For 25 years she produced various men's magazines, including Puritan, Juggs and Leg Show, before becoming TASCHEN's sexy book editor in 2001. Her many books for TASCHEN include Vanessa del Rio: Fifty Years of Slightly Slutty Behavior, Tom of Finland XXL, and The Big Butt Book. She lives in Los Angeles.

Was soll man zu Ed FOx noch schreiben? Er ist der Elmer Batters der heutigen Zeit. Viele Bilder sind nicht unbedingt, teils gar nciht fußbetont, es überwiegt aber doch seine Vorliebe. Die DVD ist auch sehenswert.

Taschen is a quality publisher. Books from this German publisher always are published using high quality materials. From the boards, the binding, the dust jackets, paper stock, and ink... Taschen has always delivered an exceptional product.
And Ed Fox II is no exception. The dust jacket is thick with two tones of gloss for subtle variations that reflect when tilted. The boards of the book also use two tones of gloss, appearing solid blue at one angle but revealing a large "Ed Fox II" when tilted against the light. The paper stock is thick with the crisp ink travelling all the way to the edge of the paper.
However, the contents of this tome are really what sends it over the 5-star edge.
To begin, Ed Fox offers a three page text introduction (in English, German, and French). The State of the Feet Report. Ed Fox II is unapologetic adult erotica. He explains his attraction to female feet, eyes, and beauty while describing his various career roles and experiences photographing the female model. This introduction offers interesting philosophical questions and is not simply an obligatory artist bio.
TeNeues, another high quality publisher, has also published several collections of artistic nude photography. Russell James, The Morning After (English, German, French, Italian and Spanish Edition), and Rankin's Heidilicious to name but three. Ed Fox II could also be described as an artistic collection of nude photography. But when compared to the aforementioned, this collection has an edge, more attitude, and is unabashedly sexual.
The most common theme in the photography is feet. Painted toes, tilted arches, and smooth soles spread flauntingly towards the camera... you'll get plenty. Most images focus on the foot, but include the rest of the model in the shot also - but not always. Most shots also include the feet of the model in the frame, but the occasional exception again exists. Regardless, Ed Fox knows what he's doing and here he's at the top of his game.
Toys. Yes, that kind. These accessories are put to stimulating use throughout. Not much is left for the imagination either; these are no mere hints of sexuality, but rather a bold celebration of it! Nothing here is disrespectful to the model, however. These models always appear confident, sensual, feminine, and assertive.
Ed Fox II is a daring adventurous collection of photography, glorifying the sexuality of the female - and specifically the beautiful female foot. This photographic essay can certainly be enjoyed by those that appreciate edgy artistic nudes. But if one is stimulated by the idea of a soft sole and yawning toes being pushed playfully close to the lens, then Ed Fox II may offer a tantalising glimpse into heaven itself.

This is consistent with the previous book, which I also purchased. For me, Ed Fox is the only photographer who puts finesse into the staging of the shots. There's more to seduction than just being naked, and there's more to great foot fetish photography than just a barefoot model.
Something he does well with most shots is finding the midpoint between elegant and lustful. This is not something you will find in magazines, which tend to veer exclusively toward one or the other. The photos show skill without losing sight of their base inspiration.
The book is a mix of classic and creative poses, close-ups, story or fantasy scenarios, and pornographic shots. This mix almost ensures that you will love some photos and wince at others, depending on your tastes within the genre. You could say the same of the output of other artists like musicians or movie directors. The fact that some of the poses and settings strike me as strange also reminds me that the author takes a true interest in the subject matter, which shows itself as new ideas and creativity. This is in contrast to the majority of magazine-style shoots performed by photographers who have no interest in feet, and are therefore limited to imitating only those poses and settings they've seen before elsewhere.
Finally, to be clear about the content: With the exception of the introduction, there is no text in the book. The focus is foot fetish photography. There is an index of the models featured. Included is a DVD. I have not watched it yet, but I can say that the previous book's DVD included a mix of classic, fantasy, and pornographic video.

This is a very good book of highly erotic images. Some are purely blatant to the eye while others are extremely subtle. This is an outstanding collection of images with many moods and shades of desires and passions brought to light.
