yet He is doing much on behalf of His children. The power of God - through His mercy and grace was displayed throughout the entire book - God moving through every situation and circumstance in the life of all those associated with Hadassah. The faith of one woman inspiring others to look to Jesus. There were times when she felt unsure of herself - but God always gave her a scripture to remind her of His promises. Francine shows the reader how truly frail we are, and how much we need God in our lives. To the Christian, how we need to be more compassionate to win the lost to Christ and reminding us just exactly where we were before we received Him in our lives. Hadassah's character at the beginning of "Voice in the Wind", was one of timidity and fear - but God helped her to overcome this as her relationship with Him grew she was more faithful to His voice!! I'd also recommend reading Tino Georgiou's bestselling novel--The Fates--if you haven't read it yet!

If you want to laugh, cry, have your heart taken out, wrenched dry, and put back better than it ever was before, you simply MUST read this book! I have read many books, but the story of Hadassah touched me as nothing else has-and I read a lot. The way Hadassah trusts in God is something I admire.

I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars. Of all of the books I have read, I keep coming back to this one, it simply draws me. I have read it 13 times or more. If you haven't read it yet, please do. It is one of the few books that draws me in completely from the very beginning. I can sit down on a lazy Saturday and read nearly all the way through it. And I get so involved in the book that if you want my attention, you may as well call me by the main character's name. It is that good!!

Charming, historical, with a bit of romance, this was a fine continuation of Book 1, but didn't quite grab me like the first one. Hadassah, again, was alittle too syrupy sweet and one-dimensional. She never seems to struggle with sin like the rest of us. Julia (my favorite character) lived a sordid life in Book 1, but the delicious details are missing in Book 2. I think Book 3 is worth a try. I want to see what that blonde hunk, Atretes, is up to.

I did enjoy this book, but it was my least favorite of the three in the series. My main problem with it is that it tries to hard to mirror modern society. A lesbian feminist tells a young woman to have an abortion because "it's a woman's right to choose." I think that's a little too obvious. But the book did get me thinking about things, and I liked the ending.

Rivers clearly researched thoroughly to present this
fascinating tale of early Christians including John the apostle. With real struggles and personalities
we learn how we can grow through prayer and recall of the Scriptures as we see the
outcome of trials and testings beyond 20th century American experience. Book 2 of a series but could easily stand alone.

I thought I could put down the first one and wait a day or two before starting the second one. Wrong! I waited 30 minutes then dove straight into the lives of Marcus, Julia and Hadassah. Just reading about Hadassah and her strength, faith, and love for her "neighbors" made me desire to have a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. You will cry!

This book is much darker than the first. I would not recommend reading this book without reading the third afterwords. Much of this story is graphic. Definitely not intended for younger readers. This book has many parallels to current day life. It will cause you to look at the world around you. An excellent book.

I found that this book was even more spirit-filled than the first. Hadassah seemed more like a real person in this book than in the first. Marcus' search for God in Galilee was much like our search for Him today. We think we have to go to great lengths to find Him, and He's so close. I loved this book.

I am just amazed at how wonderful this second book was. I made the last few pages drag out becuse I didn't want to have to finish.
I know if you read the first book you are already sorry you didn't have this one standing by.....
